Last year, the most visited spot in Marawi City was the Dansalan Grand Complex, commonly called "ground zero" by the public. It recorded 22,598 visitor arrivals.

What exactly is the reason why tourists visit this side of our once-besieged city?

Some visitors expressed sympathy by sharing stories of how Marawi is recovering from its dark past. Others rally support by seeing for themselves how Marawi is rebuilding and rediscovering its wonders. Visiting Marawi is changing its image. Whether it is because of new food parks, infrastructure, the lake promenade, Rizal Park, the Grand Masjid, or the ruins, their visits tell one story: the Meranaws are far from the mainstream narratives.

Ikaw, bakit gusto mo bumisita sa Marawi?
