🇨🇳 TOUCHDOWN: BEIJING! 🛬✨

From the Great Wall to Universal Studios Beijing, let the adventure begin! 🏯🎢

05/09/2026

🇯🇵 JAPAN TAX-FREE SHOPPING UPDATE! 🛍️

Planning to shop in Japan? Take note! Japan’s tax-free shopping system is changing effective November 1, 2026. 🇯🇵

Here’s what tourists need to know:

➡️ UNTIL OCTOBER 31, 2026
Enjoy the current system where the 10% consumption tax is deducted at the store when you make your purchase. Instant savings! 💴✨

➡️ STARTING NOVEMBER 1, 2026
The process will change. Tourists will pay the full tax-inclusive price at the store first, then claim the tax refund before leaving Japan.

🧾 KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!
Your purchases will need to be properly registered through the new refund process, so don’t throw away those receipts.

💴 PLAN YOUR SHOPPING BUDGET
Since you’ll pay the full amount upfront, make sure you have enough funds available. Your tax refund will come later.

✈️ ALLOW EXTRA TIME AT THE AIRPORT
You’ll need to complete the tax-refund/customs procedure before departing Japan, so it’s best to arrive at the airport earlier than usual.

⏰ REFUND DEADLINE
The refund must be claimed within the prescribed period after purchase.

📅 TRAVELING AROUND NOVEMBER 1?
No worries! Purchases made before October 31 follow the old system, while purchases made starting November 1, 2026 will follow the new system.

📌 Travel Tip: If Japan is on your itinerary this coming winter, save this post and share it with your travel buddies! 🇯🇵🛍️
