Students from The Raya School explored Marikina through an educational tour of Marikina City Hall, the Marikina Public Market, Kapitan Moy Heritage House, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned, the Marikina Heritage Building, and the Marikina Shoe Museum. Along the way, they discovered the city’s rich history, culture, craftsmanship, and heritage.

Discover the Mari-Korea Monument

Standing proudly at the Evolution Park, the Mari-Korea Monument honors the more than 7,000 Filipino soldiers of the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) who fought during the Korean War.

Few know that the Marikina Heights area once served as a major training ground for Filipino troops before they were deployed to Korea in the 1950s. Today, the monument stands as a lasting tribute to their courage and to the enduring friendship between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.
