NEWS UPDATE: 🚨 Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially launched its first nonstop flight service connecting Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, on May 2, 2025. This new route offers three weekly flights every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing from Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 10:55 PM and arriving in Ho Chi Minh City at 12:55 AM. The return flights operate every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, departing Ho Chi Minh City at 1:55 AM and arriving in Cebu at 6:05 AM.  
The inaugural flight, PR 587, was marked by a ceremonial send-off at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, highlighting the significance of this new connection between Central Visayas and Vietnam’s bustling southern metropolis. 
This development is part of PAL’s broader strategy to enhance regional connectivity and cater to the growing demand for international travel from the Visayas. The new route is expected to boost tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Vietnam.
