STRENGTHENING SCHOOL SECURITY IN NASIPIT

The Municipality of Nasipit, under the leadership of Mayor Roscoe Democrito B. Plaza, continues to prioritize the safety and security of our students and the entire school community.

As part of this commitment, magnetic detectors were issued by Mayor Plaza to help strengthen security measures in our public schools and promote a safer learning environment.

The equipment was formally turned over by Municipal Administrator Edward Arvin L. Ang on behalf of Mayor Roscoe Plaza to PSDS Arnold Solen for proper distribution and utilization.

This initiative reflects Mayor Plaza’s continuing commitment to peace and order in our schools and his determination to protect the children of Nasipit.

To our parents, teachers, and students: Your safety matters. Our children matter. The local government is working to ensure that our schools remain safe and secure places for learning.

Scheduled power interruption affecting the western parts of Agusan del Norte on Friday, 21 August 2026, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Affected EC: ANECO Manapa and Kinabjangan Substations ( Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. )

Reason: Preventive maintenance activities along Nasipit-Butuan 69kV Line.

Specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperative. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

HEAT INDEX | Do you know what the Heat Index is and why it is important to monitor it?

The Heat Index refers to how hot the temperature actually feels to the human body. It is not based solely on air temperature; it also takes into account humidity, or the amount of moisture in the air. The higher the humidity, the hotter it feels.

Heat Index Classification:

27°C to 32°C
Caution. May cause fatigue or discomfort.

33°C to 41°C
Extreme Caution. Heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible and may lead to heat stroke.

42°C to 51°C
Danger. Higher risk of heat cramps and heat exhaustion.

52°C and above
Extreme Danger. Heat stroke is possible at any time.

Prevention Tips:

Drink plenty of water, wear loose and lightweight clothing, and use an umbrella, hat, or sunglasses when going outdoors.

Also keep an eye on children, older adults, and other individuals who are more vulnerable to heat. If you experience severe fatigue or excessive body heat, rest immediately and move to a cooler place.

In response to the concerns and pleas of our students and parents, the Municipality of Nasipit, through Executive Order No. 38, Series of 2026—a revision and update of Executive Order No. 37—is implementing a half-day face-to-face class arrangement effective August 17, 2026, until further notice.

This arrangement seeks to address the concerns raised by our students and parents while continuing to ensure the safety, well-being, and continuity of learning of our learners.

The Office of the Municipal Mayor of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte hereby announces the lifting of the suspension of face-to-face classes in all public and private educational institutions in the Municipality of Nasipit.

FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES RESUME

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 17, 2026

All public and private schools are advised to resume regular face-to-face classes beginning Monday, August 17, 2026.

Students, parents, teachers, and school personnel are advised to remain guided by the latest directives and to continue observing necessary safety precautions.

Please be guided accordingly and disseminate this information.

📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT | NASIPIT, AGUSAN DEL NORTE

📚 FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES TEMPORARILY SHIFT TO BLENDED LEARNING

Due to the rising heat index and prevailing extreme heat conditions, the Municipality of Nasipit is implementing the temporary suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels in all public and private educational institutions within the municipality.

📌 EFFECTIVE: AUGUST 14, 2026 (FRIDAY) UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

This measure is being implemented to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our learners and school personnel, as excessive heat may make regular face-to-face classes unsafe and not conducive to effective learning.

💻 CONTINUITY OF LEARNING
Schools are advised to implement blended learning, online classes, or other appropriate alternative learning modalities during the period of suspension.

The suspension is pursuant to Executive Order No. 36, Series of 2026, issued by the Office of the Municipal Mayor.
