Preserving the past, shaping the future.
The Municipality of Nasipit, through the Municipal Tourism Office, officially commenced its Cultural Mapping Training — a significant step towards the completion of the listing and documentation of Nasipit’s cultural and heritage properties. This initiative aims to preserve, rediscover, and strengthen the rich cultural identity of Nasipit for future generations.
With the guidance and expertise of facilitators from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, a dedicated team of mappers and researchers has been gathered and trained under the leadership of Tourism Officer Carmen Docdocil Ponce. The week-long training involves 25 participants who will work together in completing this important cultural mapping project within the year 2026.
This initiative reflects the vision and commitment of Mayor Roscoe Democrito Plaza to ensure the preservation and protection of Nasipit’s cultural and heritage identity — recognizing that culture is not only a reflection of who we are, but also a guide towards the municipality’s future growth and recognition to the world.
Through this undertaking, Nasipit continues to honor its stories, traditions, landmarks, and people — keeping its heritage alive for generations to come.
