FIRE RAZES FOUR ESTABLISHMENTS NEAR NASIPIT PUBLIC MARKET; MAYOR PLAZA PUSHES FOR IMPROVED FIRE RESPONSE SYSTEM
Nasipit, Agusan del Norte – A fire incident struck Barangay 4, Poblacion, Nasipit, razing four establishments near the public market. The fire reportedly started in an abandoned house located behind a meat shop and cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Bureau of Fire Department.
The flames quickly spread due to the close proximity of structures, prompting an urgent response from firefighters, emergency teams, and volunteers. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported during the incident.
Nasipit Mayor Roscoe Democrito B. Plaza personally visited the fire scene and assured affected business owners and residents that the local government will take proactive steps to prevent future incidents. Among the key plans is the modernization of the municipal fire department, including the procurement of a larger fire truck and upgraded equipment to strengthen fire response capabilities.
“This unfortunate event reminds us of the importance of fire prevention and community readiness. We will make sure Nasipit becomes more resilient against emergencies like this,” Mayor Plaza stated.
The local government extends its deepest gratitude to the neighboring towns and cities, private companies, and volunteer groups who responded quickly with additional fire trucks and resources. Special thanks also go to the MDRRMO, Boy Scouts, citizens, and various civic and community organizations who courageously assisted in containing the fire and managing the situation on the ground.
