07/02: Our Lady of Piat

𝗝𝗨𝗟𝗬 𝟮 | 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗜𝗔𝗧

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Visitation of Piat, honoring the beloved image of Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario de la Visitación de Piat, a treasured 16th-century Marian image and the heavenly Patroness of the Cagayan Valley Region.

The title "Visitation" reminds us of the Blessed Virgin Mary's journey to visit her cousin Elizabeth—a visit filled with love, hope, and the joyful presence of Christ. Inspired by this Gospel event, generations of the faithful have entrusted themselves to Our Lady, believing that she continues to visit her children through her loving intercession, offering comfort to the weary, strength to the faithful, and gently leading every heart closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

Each year on July 2, thousands of pilgrims and devotees from across the Cagayan Valley and beyond come together in prayer and thanksgiving to celebrate her feast. Through the centuries, devotion to Our Lady of Piat has remained a living testament to God's abiding love, making her shrine a place of faith, hope, healing, and countless graces.

As we honor our Blessed Mother today, may her maternal care continue to inspire us to live lives rooted in faith, hope, and charity. May Our Lady of the Visitation of Piat always accompany us on our journey and lead us ever closer to Christ.

Today, June 28, various religious groups will hold the White Ribbon March at the EDSA People Power Monument as a call for truth, accountability, justice, and righteousness in public life.

We offer 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙚 as we unite and pray for the peaceful and victorious rally against corruption.
