5150 Ironman Guimaras Triathlon Event , athletes test the limits of endurance and alongside them, water safety marshals stand as guardians of the sea in there swimming course.
To serve as a Water Safety Marshal is an honor. Equipped with Garboards stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), marshals gain stability, speed, and visibility, ensuring every swimmer is guided, protected, and supported. SUPs allow marshals to respond instantly, maintain a clear vantage point, and uphold the highest standard of safety in open water.

At Guimaras Paddle and Sail, we celebrate this noble role. SUP is more than sport it is a safeguard, a tradition, and a proud commitment to protecting lives while promoting adventure.

Guimaras Paddle and Sail and Panay Waterman
Sharing the Joy of the Sea at the 3rd Guimaras Hammock Festival in Yato Island, Barangay Panabolon, Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. What made this celebration even more meaningful for us was the opportunity to serve the community and festival-goers through a FREE Paddle Clinic and FREE Paddling Experience for the children, fisherfolk, and event participants.

From the first splash of paddles on the water, the shoreline came alive with laughter and excitement. The island children learned with incredible ease and confidence—as if the sea itself was guiding them. Truly, paddling and sailing run in their blood. They balanced, stroked, and glided naturally, showing that they are born from the ocean and shaped by the waves. Their joy was contagious, spreading to parents, fisherfolk, and even to visitors who paddled with them for the first time.

The fisherfolk and festival participants also embraced the experience with open hearts. Many tried stand-up paddling for the very first time, discovering not only the thrill of gliding on water but also the importance of water safety, balance, and respect for the sea. What started as a simple activity turned into shared moments of courage, learning, and laughter between locals and visitors alike.

Seeing children, parents, and guests all paddling together on the same waters was a powerful reminder of what these events are truly about—connection, culture, community, and conservation. Every smile, every successful balance, and every fearless paddle stroke became a celebration of island life

Mangoman Triathlon Event
The Province of Guimaras - P**O, Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Philippine Coast Guard, PDRRMO, MDRRMO and to whom contributed much love to make this event possible.

Guimaras Paddle and Sail in collaboration with Panay Waterman, proudly served as the Open Water Swim Safety Marshals. Using our upcycled 14-foot Touring and Raceboard stand up paddle boards, we ensured maximum safety and visibility for all athletes in the swim leg.

Stand Up Paddleboards offer a unique advantage for open water swim marshalling—they provide a higher vantage point to monitor swimmers, allow quick maneuvering in any direction, and give marshals the ability to assist athletes immediately without disturbing the water. SUPs are eco-friendly, non-motorized, and perfectly suited for ensuring safety while keeping the race environmentally responsible. 🌍✨

To all the triathletes who braved the waters, pedaled the roads, and crossed the finish line—congratulations on your inspiring achievement! This event proves how sports, safety, and sustainability can work hand in hand.

Guimaras Paddle and Sail proudly served as marshals during the International Open Water Swim at Taklong Island National Marine Reserve, located in the Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras Province. The event, organized by the Department of Tourism – Western Visayas and the Zamboanga Open Water Swim Club, promoted eco-tourism, endurance sports, and marine environmental awareness.

Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) and kayaks played a vital role in ensuring swimmer safety and efficient course monitoring. SUPs provided an elevated view, allowing marshals to easily spot swimmers and signal directions, while also serving as a stable platform for swimmers needing brief rest. Kayaks were highly maneuverable and effective for quick response, gear transport, and close support throughout the swim route.

Both crafts allowed access to shallow and reef areas without disturbing marine life, proving essential for setting buoys and guiding swimmers safely through the course. Their quiet, low-impact nature supports environmental protection while enhancing event safety. This collaboration reflects our commitment to sustainable paddling practices and marine conservation in Guimaras.
