According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Bangkok has taken 1st place for Best Leisure City in the survey for the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022.

Business Traveller, a famous travel business publication, announced the 31st Business Traveller Asia-Pacific awards, which were voted on by readers of Business Traveler Asia-Pacific. The poll ran from July to September, and the results were compiled by the research agency Business Intelligence.

This year, Bangkok won top ranking in the category of “Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific,” which is the sixth year in a row. Bangkok was also ranked 3rd in the category of "Best Business Cities in Asia."

In addition, Thailand received other awards: Thai Airways was ranked 3rd in the “Best Airline of Asia-Pacific,” and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, was ranked 1st in the "Best Business Hotel in Asia-Pacific" survey.

Starting October 1 (SAT) 12mn, mandatory RT-PCR test upon arrival in Korea will be lifted.

Korea announced that rate of confirmed cases from overseas visitors dropped from 1.3% in August to 0.9% in September. In consideration of this development, the mandatory RT-PCR test will be lifted.

The Cabinet approves cancellation of COVID-19 as a forbidden disease for foreigners entering Thailand, But the following diseases are still stipulated as forbidden:
- Prohibited diseases for foreigners entering the Kingdom: leprosy, tuberculosis in the dangerous stage, elephantiasis in the stage of being unsightly, narcotic disease, and syphilis stage 3;
- Prohibited diseases for foreigners who have settled in the Kingdom: leprosy, tuberculosis in the dangerous stage, elephantiasis, drug addiction, alcoholism, and syphilis stage 3.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has opened three "creative historical travel routes
to stimulate interest in the history of various areas.

The TAT will kick off its first creative historical travel route in Ayutthaya province in November 2022.

The three historical routes include the Ayutthaya historical route, Dvaravati historical route (in Suphan Buri and Ratchaburi provinces), and Lavo historical route (Lop Buri province).

The activities will help to generate income for local communities and increase knowledge and understanding about Thai history.

In addition, these routes strictly follow COVID-19 prevention measures in accordance with the Ministry of Public Health’s standards and SHA standards.

ALL DOMESTIC FLIGHTS RETURN TO TERMINAL 1

Cebu, Philippines – Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) shall operate all Domestic Departures and Arrivals at Terminal 1 (T1) effective 15 October 2022, 00:01 PST. Effectively, Terminal 2 (T2) shall be dedicated for all International Departures and Arrivals.

MCIA continues to experience increased domestic traffic with domestic demand now at 67% of pre-pandemic levels. In the same period of 2019, daily average at MCIA tipped at 35,000 passengers for domestic and international. International traffic continues to take increased traffic from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. In the next months, MCIA is also expecting resumption of flights from Hong Kong and China.

MCIA remains committed in ensuring smooth airport experience for its passengers and stakeholders. Thank you for your usual cooperation and understanding.
