Based on production data and monitoring reports from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the following provinces emerged as the countryโs leading rice producers this year.
Nueva Ecija retained its long-standing position as the countryโs โRice Granary,โ while provinces in Northern Luzon, Western Visayas, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Northern Mindanao continued to post significant contributions to national palay output.
The latest figures also reflect the increasing importance of climate resilience and sustainable agricultural systems as farming communities face prolonged droughts, flooding, rising input costs, and supply chain disruptions linked to climate variability.
Agriculture experts continue to emphasize the need for stronger investments in irrigation modernization, post-harvest facilities, farmer support programs, and climate-adaptive technologies to secure the countryโs long-term food stability.
Rice remains the most important staple food in the Philippines, making local production a key pillar of national food security and economic resilience.
