Bucas Grande is a hidden gem of an island in Surigao. Home to clean beaches, clear lakes & lagoons, magical caves, beautiful resorts, and kind-hearted, welcoming, helpful locals.
We booked our stay in Club Tara Resort where they have sensational whirlpool bath cottages over clear waters. Their cottages are usually for couples however they also have cottages that can accommodate a family of four (4). You will have stunning views all day either from the balcony or their glass enclosed whirlpool bath.
How to get there:
-Club Tara can be accessed by a boat, its main port of entry. Travelers can catch a boat* either from Socorro (Municipality where Bucas Grande is part of) or from Hayanggabon Port in Claver, Surigao.
-Travelers from Manila will have to book a flight to any major city in Mindanao, then take the bus or van going north to Bad-As Terminal (junction between Surigao City and Placer). From Bad-As, ride a van going Cantilan and tell the driver to drop you to Hayanggabon Port in Claver. From the port, take the boat* to Club Tara
*Club Tara will have an arranged boat and boatman waiting on your port of choice on the day of your confirmed stay.
