𝐀 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐒𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Melody Imperial, a 4th-year Architecture student from the University of Santo Tomas – Manila. She is currently working on her thesis titled “The Local Abaca Artists Resort Sanctuary in Catanduanes: Weaving the Lived Experiences into Tourist Spaces through Phenomenology.”

Her study aims to design a culturally immersive resort that reflects the stories and traditions of local abaca weavers in Catanduanes. It explores how architecture can help promote cultural identity, support tourism, and encourage sustainable design rooted in local practices.

As part of her research, Ms. Imperial visited Panganiban to meet with the community of women weavers. These talented handloom artisans, trained by HABI The Philippine Textile Council, shared their knowledge and stories with her. She also observed the intricate process of traditional handloom weaving—an insightful and meaningful experience that showcased the community’s artistry, cultural heritage, and enduring resilience.

Ongoing monitoring and management activities are being conducted for the GAYON TURISMO TUPAD Project across various tourism sites in the Municipality of Panganiban.

This initiative is spearheaded by the LGU Panganiban, led by Municipal Mayor Cesar J. Robles, in partnership with the PESO Office and the Municipal Tourism Office.

📍 Monitored Sites Include:
• Floating Cottage Site – Banquerohan, Barangay Sta. Ana
• Sara-Saraan Mini Falls – Barangay San Miguel
• Pusong Bato – Barangay San Miguel
• Baby Falls – Barangay San Miguel

These efforts ensure that project implementation is on track and that beneficiaries are effectively contributing to the enhancement and upkeep of our local attractions.

Through this initiative, we aim to improve the tourism experience in Panganiban while providing meaningful employment opportunities to our constituents.

The Provincial Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Regional Office V, invites tourist drivers in the province to participate in a capability building training on tourist transport handling.

This two-day training is designed to equip our tourism frontliners with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver safe, professional, and high-quality service to our visitors. As we continue to upskill our tourism workforce, it is vital that our tourist drivers are prepared to meet the standards of a safe, accessible, and welcoming tourism experience.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦: 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐨𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫

A special coordination meeting was held this morning, June 16, 2025, at the Sta. Ana Barangay Hall, with Tourism Operations Officer I, Ms. Jane Cabrera Angeles, joining the barangay officials of Sta. Ana, led by Punong Barangay Ramon Cabrera.

The primary agenda was the development and promotion of the Cabuyoan Mangrove River as one of Panganiban’s emerging eco-tourism destinations, in line with the town’s upcoming events this July. The discussion was centered on sustainable tourism activities that will highlight the natural beauty, cultural richness, and economic potential of the area.

Among the proposed activities were 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 and 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, designed to immerse visitors in the rich biodiversity of the mangrove ecosystem while promoting environmental awareness and appreciation.

In addition, the group discussed how these tourism efforts could further support the town’s One Town, One Product (OTOP)—crabs— by showcasing local livelihoods through 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗯-𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, and 𝘀𝗲𝗮-𝘁𝗼-𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The unique native river shells found in the area were also identified as potential local products to feature in future campaigns.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhance community-based eco-tourism and ensure that the activities to be rolled out are inclusive, sustainable, and beneficial to both the environment and the local community.

𝟏𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Today, the Local Government Unit of Panganiban, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Cesar J. Robles, proudly commemorates the 127th Independence Day of the Republic of the Philippines.

This significant occasion was joined by the members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Arvin Atencia, barangay officials and punong barangays headed by Liga ng mga Barangay President Amador Fernandez III, department heads and employees, representatives from national government agencies, and uniformed personnel.

The commemoration began with a solemn flag-raising ceremony, followed by a short but meaningful program featuring messages from Mayor Robles, Vice Mayor Atencia, and Acting Chief of Police PCPT Jefferson G. Escasinas.

A wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument concluded the event, paying tribute to the brave Filipinos who valiantly fought and sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy today.

As we mark this historic day, may we continue to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and service to our nation.

Today’s orientation marks the start of a meaningful journey as our beneficiaries gear up to contribute to the improvement and development of key tourism sites in the Municipality of Panganiban.
