August 11, 2026 | Virac, Catanduanes โ The Provincial Government of Catanduanes, under the leadership of Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza, has begun preparations for the 81st Catanduanes Foundation Anniversary, with the Executive and Steering Committees convening on Tuesday at the Catanduanes Command Center to advance plans for this yearโs celebration.
The meeting was presided over by Acting Vice Governor Fred Benedict T. Gianan and attended by members of the Steering Committee headed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Evelyn L. Gutierrez, together with the representatives from the offices of the Provincial Government and Municipal Tourism Offices.
The Provincial Tourism Office, headed by Provincial Tourism Officer Carmel Bonifacio-Garcia, Secretariat of the Steering Committee, presented the proposed plans for the celebration for the Committeeโs consideration.
Among the key matters discussed and approved were the celebration dates of October 26โ28, 2026, and the anniversary theme:

The Committee also reviewed the proposed Calendar of Activities, promotional materials, and the creation of various working committees that will oversee the preparation and implementation of the celebration.
The meeting marks an important step in bringing together the different provincial offices, local government units, committees, and stakeholders toward a coordinated and meaningful celebration of Catanduanesโ 81 years as a province.
