The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pangantucan proudly participated in the highly anticipated Bukidnon Business Summit, aptly named “𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓,” held on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 at Robinsons Valencia. This weeklong celebration brought together a vibrant array of entrepreneurs, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), visionary artists, dedicated farmers, talented artisans, dynamic performers, creative industry leaders, and representatives from both national and local government sectors.

On July 18, LGU Pangantucan, in partnership with Finca de Garces, enthusiastically joined the 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮 at Robinsons Mall, Valencia. Later that day, they graced the prestigious “𝘞𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴” at Hotel Valencia. Among the distinguished resource speakers was Pangantucan’s own pride, Mr. Maynard Joseph N. Garces, representing the innovative 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘢 𝘥𝘦 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘍𝘢𝘳𝘮. Other notable speakers included Atty. Ferdinand Taglucop, the trailblazing owner of 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘰𝘱 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘍𝘢𝘳𝘮; B**g Quemado, the visionary behind 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺; and the charismatic influencer “𝘉𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘳.”

Pangantucan, Bukidnon – In a momentous event held at the Municipal Gymnasium on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pangantucan proudly received the very first “𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.” This prestigious award, spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Department of Health (DOH), recognizes LGUs for their outstanding efforts in eradicating illegal drug-related problems within their communities.

The awarding ceremony was graced by Pangantucan’s dedicated officials, led by Hon. Mayor Manolito G. Garces and Hon. Vice Mayor Edward E. Hernandez. Demonstrating their unwavering commitment to a drug-free municipality, the officials, together with Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members, Punong Barangays, and department heads of national and local offices, signed the Manifesto for a Drug-Free Workplace and Community. This collective pledge underscores the LGU’s unified stance and proactive approach in supporting the national government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

Mayor Garces expressed his gratitude to all agencies and stakeholders involved, and participation of the academe, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in sustaining a safe and healthy environment for every Pangantucan resident. “This award is a testament to our shared dedication and the hard work of our community. Together, we will continue to strive for a drug-free Pangantucan,” he said.

The Local Government Unit of Pangantucan, Bukidnon, led by Municipal Mayor Manolito G. Garces and Municipal Vice Mayor Edward E. Hernandez, together with the members of the 19th Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Engineering’s Office spearheaded the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of Perimeter Stalls at the Pangantucan Public Market. The project, with a total cost of ₱ 92,000,000.00 is contracted to Brima Construction and Enterprises and Noam Construction. The construction is expected to be completed within 720 days.

During the ceremony, Mayor Garces appealed to the contractors to finish the project ahead of schedule, emphasizing the importance of providing immediate support to market vendors and the business sector, as well as enhancing convenience for residents, visitors, and travelers in the municipality.

The event was attended by local officials, department heads, office representatives, stakeholders, and the IP Council of Elders, who led the ritual ceremonies to bless the project.

The 63rd Araw ng Pangantucan, with the theme “𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦,” culminated in a successful program held on July 1, 2025. Hon. Mayor Manolito G. Garces officially opened the event, warmly welcoming both residents and guests to the celebration.
This annual commemoration holds deep significance for the community, serving as a vibrant reminder of Pangantucan’s rich cultural heritage and cherished traditions. Through festivities such as these, the people of Pangantucan honor their shared history, celebrate their unique identity, and strengthen the bonds that unite generations. The event not only showcases local customs, talents, and products, but also instills pride in the community’s achievements and aspirations for a sustainable future. By coming together in celebration, residents reaffirm their commitment to preserving their cultural legacy while embracing progress and development.

A highlight of the program was the reading of the town’s history by Datu “Maganuna” Emmanuel Dan Torregoza, which offered everyone a meaningful reflection on Pangantucan’s journey and heritage. The celebration was further enlivened by rich and vibrant performances from local school bands, whose music and energy captivated the audience. The Kulahi Pangantucan Performing Arts group also graced the occasion, adding a special touch with their dynamic and culturally inspired presentations.

Distinguished guests included Congresswoman Hon. Laarni Lavin Roque, represented by Mr. Jared Rhoel Roque De Leon, who delivered her message and well wishes to the newly elected officials, read the speech and presented a video message. The Department of Tourism Region 10 was represented by Ms. Rheta Mae S. Eblamo on behalf of Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan. Director Unchuan commended Pangantucan for the successful launch of Bukidnon’s first-ever Coffee Tour, featuring Finca de Garces and Kape Napalit coffee, as well as the “Kabayo Festival” with its Horse Show and Competition held on June 28–29 respectively.

Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Edward E. Hernandez concluded the program by expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the Araw ng Pangantucan celebration, recognizing the collective efforts that contributed to the event’s success.
