Back to school: Did you know that there's a difference between schooling and shoaling? Schooling is a coordinated, collective behavior — like spiraling and moving in one direction, usually in a constantly changing ball-like mass. Shoaling is when fish stay together socially. Do the ends justify the means? This image, published by National Geographic has taken the internet by storm. It has highlighted one of the biggest threats that face our oceans today. The awareness it has created is a good thing, yet some people believe the image was staged. What do you think?

If you've seen one nudibranch, you *haven't* seen them all. There are over 3,000 species of nudibranchs but they don't live very long (a year at best, some only for a few weeks), and their boneless bodies leave no record of their brief existence. Nudibranchs are also hermaphrodites (having reproductive organs of both sexes). Because they can't move too far or too fast, they need to be able to mate with any nudibranch that passes by — male or female. Fun twist: nudibranchs are also cannibals. So if you're a nudibranch and you run into another nudibranch, do you stick around for some sexy time, or do you run for your life?
