The 13th Himala! Sa Buhangin turned the Paoay Sand Dunes into a living stage of music, art, and community. From sunrise performances that lit up the dunes to nights that shimmered under the stars, the festival drew crowds who came not just to watch, but to experience, explore, and connect.
This year’s installations told stories of Ilocos Norte’s everyday life and creativity. Bamboo structures inspired by bawang, sea-inspired designs, and symbolic elements like the ‘alat’ reflected the resilience, resourcefulness, and spirit of local communities. Every corner of the dunes became a canvas for imagination, where music and art moved together with the people.
For attendees, Himala was more than a festival, it was a space to celebrate Ilokano culture, make memories, and feel a shared sense of pride in a place that is both iconic and alive with possibility.
Same dunes. Bigger Himala.
See you at the next one. [A]
