𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒂 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕—𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔.

At Casa Loubel in Buruanga, where waves kiss the shore in whispered prayer,
the world feels softer… slower… sacred.
Just across the horizon, Boracay pulses with life—
but here, time holds its breath,
and so do we.

On this Black Saturday, between death and dawn,
we sit with the silence,
and remember:
stillness is also holy.

7 churches. 7 stops. 7 silent prayers.
On this Maundy Thursday, I walked the sacred path of Visita Iglesia here in Iloilo City, each church a chapter in my life’s journey—of joys, trials, and the quiet strength found in faith.

Every step reminded me that life, like this pilgrimage, isn’t always easy. There are uphill climbs, moments of silence, and times we carry burdens we don’t speak of. But in every church I entered, I was reminded: we are never truly alone.

In our brokenness, we find grace. In our questions, we find peace. And in our journey, we find Him walking with us—always.

I convey a message on behalf of the Secretary General with two core principles. One is gratitude. And one is celebration.

As Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco showed, the rate of recovery in the Philippines is remarkable. It's not just in the number of tourists and in the revenue. It's in the return of jobs, the return of livelihoods, which really is the heartbeat of tourism.

Importantly, however, on top of that we have seen especially being here in Clark for this incredibly important event. And that's why I say gratitude, the way in which the Philippines is leading tourism in the world is exemplary.
