Throughout the 13-day immersion, ACD faculty explored different areas of the hospitality and tourism industry through hands-on training, educational tours, and unique learning experiences.

From Davao to the beautiful island of Boracay, the journey begins! The faculty of ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐จ (๐€๐‚๐ƒ) has officially arrived and is ready for a week of learning, hands-on training, and exciting new experiences!

In partnership with Astoria Current Boracay, this faculty immersion runs from October 20โ€“28, 2026, giving ACD faculty the opportunity to experience the hospitality industry up close.

Through hands-on training in Food and Beverage Service and Lodging Operations, the faculty will gain practical knowledge, explore actual hotel operations, and learn more about the skills and standards that make the hospitality industry thrive.

From October 8โ€“10, 2026, the Hospitality Management students of Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF) traveled from Pampanga to the Ilocos Region for their Ilocos Hospitality and Tourism Industry Immersion.

From the historic streets of Vigan to the scenic coastlines and remarkable landmarks of Ilocos Norte, this three-day journey brought learning beyond the classroom, allowing students to experience the regionโ€™s rich cultural heritage, diverse tourism attractions, hospitality services, and exciting adventures.

๐Ÿ“ ๐€ ๐‰๐Ž๐”๐‘๐๐„๐˜ ๐“๐‡๐‘๐Ž๐”๐†๐‡ ๐ˆ๐‹๐Ž๐‚๐Ž๐’

The immersion began in Ilocos Sur, where students visited the iconic Bantay Bell Tower, discovered the traditional art of pottery making at Pagburnayan, and experienced the charm of old Vigan through a memorable kalesa ride along its historic streets. They also enjoyed a taste of Ilocano cuisine during lunch at La Casa Blanca de Vigan Hotel before checking in at Hotel Luna, known for its unique combination of hotel accommodation and museum experience, where art, history, and hospitality come together.

The adventure continued in Ilocos Norte, beginning with a visit to the iconic Bangui Wind Farm, famous for its towering wind turbines along the coastline. The students then enjoyed lunch at Evangeline Resort in Pagudpud, with the beautiful scenery of the white sands and turquoise waters of Saud Beach adding to the experience. For an extra dose of excitement, they took on the thrilling 4x4 ride and sandboarding adventure at the Paoay Sand Dunes. The day concluded with a stay at Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel, a landmark resort known for its distinctive architecture, expansive grounds, and upscale hospitality experience.

On their final day, the students explored Malacaรฑang of the North, a historical landmark offering a glimpse into the regionโ€™s past, followed by a buffet lunch at Kusina Valentin. They also visited the magnificent Paoay Church, admired for its distinctive Earthquake Baroque architecture and massive exterior buttresses. As part of the UNESCO listed Baroque Churches of the Philippines, it stands as a remarkable testament to the countryโ€™s rich religious and architectural heritage.

Through this industry immersion, SPCF students had the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real world experiences, gaining a deeper appreciation of cultural heritage, destination management, hotel operations, food service, and tourism development. Every destination offered valuable insights, while every activity helped broaden their understanding of the dynamic hospitality and tourism industry.

Last September 22, 2026, the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tourism management students officially began their On-the-Job Training (OJT) in the world-renowned island of Boracay.

As part of their training, the students were deployed to our valued partner host establishments, Mandarin Bay Resort & Spa and Mรถvenpick Resort & Spa Boracay, where they will gain hands on experience and learn from the different departments of the hotel.

Beyond their classroom lessons, this training will give them the opportunity to understand the actual operations of the tourism and hospitality industry, develop their professional skills, interact with guests, and experience the responsibilities of working in a real world environment.

We hope that this OJT will become an important milestone in their college journey and serve as a strong foundation for their future careers in tourism and hospitality.

To the FEU Tourism students, may this be the beginning of many more opportunities, experiences, and achievements ahead.
