Here’s one-year old Manila exploring Sicogon two years ago when we went there during Holy Week. The island is the kind we look for during this time of the year— peaceful and free of big crowds.

For a refreshing change, this year was spent here in Manila, at its most peaceful and traffic-free state. 💆🏽‍♀️ Any other recos on where a quiet Holy Week could be spent?

Happy Easter, everyone! 🤍

An update nobody asked for: I woke up realizing we have not planned a beach trip for summer. It feels so strange and made me look back on all those years pre-pandemic and pre-parenthood when our daily agenda consisted of crafting travel plans for us and for you.

I have missed Bookie-ing in short! So here I am dedicating a fraction of my non-mom-duties hour to post some of my favorite photos from last December when we celebrated my and Manila’s birthdays in El Nido.

You probably still won’t hear from us often but I think I’d like to drop by once in a while. And as always, feel free to message for travel recos and we’ll try our best to respond. Hope you are having a happy summer! Don’t forget to hydrate! 🏝️

then ➡️ now

Today, we celebrate year 1️⃣0️⃣ of Bookie PH and to say that it has been a journey is an understatement. Our definition of travel has evolved tenfold since but we stand for the same mission of loving and promoting local.

To all our day ones and to everyone else who’s been part of everything that Bookie was and has become, thank you for sticking around. See you in the islands!🏝️

Home away from home 🛖🌴⛱️

has been our go-to spot on the island since 2016. It's impressive to see how much magic they've retained amid all the refurbishments and changes. There's always a feeling of inspiration and longing days after we check out. Keep the vibe alive, Bravo. We'll see you again real soon 👋🏽

Btw, planning on writing about our travels as a family. Would anyone wanna hear some recos on family-friendly spots around the country? Comment below ⬇️

Traveling with a toddler requires loads of work, patience, commitment, not to mention, extra baggage. In the same breath, it’s been so fulfilling taking our baby, Manila around and doing things with him that we’ve always loved doing. As they say, he won’t remember any of this but we will, so we live for the joy of exploring with him, one island at a time.

Are there any particular tips and tricks you’d like to see more of in traveling with a toddler? Would be happy to share what we can! 👶🏻✈️

Hello there! We haven’t migrated in case you were wondering.

While we’ve been quiet the past two years, we also have ran out of reasons to remain in the longest layover ever. Truth is, we had the toughest time maneuvering the business on the onset of the pandemic when traveling became impossible. The product of that obstacle was a diversion of sorts to other passions as a coping mechanism and mostly, to make ends meet. In the course of the seemingly never-ending lockdown, our team, aka family, got a little bigger and it got difficult to just jump back on track and reopen shop even when travel was slowly easing up.

Our social media feed alone screams that the Philippines and the rest of the world have opened up, and we’re happy to say we’ve been out and about this past year (now as a team of three)!

Bookie won’t be offering the same services for the time being but this doesn’t mean we’re getting off your radar. We’ve built a solid community of travelers, hoteliers and tour operators, and we figured we can still make travel happen together by sharing snippets of our personal adventures and tips if you may, taking to heart the same advocacy of promoting our very own islands. We’d be more than happy to hear from you as well and continue to discover what’s out there.

So hello again! We are back in a slightly different form but with the same zest for exploration. Biyahe tayo! 🇵🇭
