My Place

My quaint little hut is off the beaten road and off-the-grid, nestled on a hill overlooking the West Philippine Sea, in between a private cove and a public beach. It is some 35 kilometers or a 40-minute drive from the airport, over paved roads with a spectacular view along the last 13 kilometers of the way.

My home may be small but it is a complete house - with toilet and bath, kitchen, a queen size bed, a desk, a loft where a mattress may be set up, and a porch that serves as a dining area too. I call my place Serenity, as it simply gives one a feeling of peace and tranquility.

It has solar-powered electricity, with a back-up generator, for lights and charging your gadgets although they canโ€™t be used for communication yet. You will not be bothered by the outside world while you enjoy being detached. I donโ€™t know if thatโ€™s good or bad for you, but I prefer the peace and quiet, and I hope you do too.

I have running cold spring water, but you can heat water in a kettle for bathing if you wish. I use an icebox which keeps food stored and drinks cold for a couple of days. I have a full kitchen you can use. I have basic breakfast items like oatmeal, cereals, and brewed coffee. We will have to pass by the grocery after I pick you up from the airport, for stuff you may need to do your own cooking.
