Romance should not cost your life savings. 💸

Filipinos lost over ₱20 MILLION to AI-powered love scams in 2025 alone, and scammers are getting bolder every day. They pretend to be the “perfect partner,” rush the relationship, then demand “emergency” money, investment funds, or fees.

If someone you only met online is pushing you to send money, keep your relationship secret, or decide quickly—treat it as a RED FLAG 🚩 and step back. Screenshot your conversations, keep your evidence, and report suspicious accounts to cybercrime authorities or trusted NGOs immediately. Your one report can stop a syndicate and protect someone else from harm.

Some ‘sweet’ messages are actually WARNING SIGNS. ‼️

Traffickers and abusers often start by making someone feel special, then slowly use guilt, threats, or ‘love’ to control them. This Valentine’s Day, let’s not just look for red roses—let’s watch out for red flags.

If a partner or ‘online lover’

❌ forces you to send nudes or videos
❌ isolates you from family and friends
❌ controls your money, clothes, or where you go
❌ threatens to harm you or themselves if you leave

that is not love. That is abuse, and it can be trafficking.

SHARE this post to help someone recognize the signs.

If you feel unsafe, message our page or reach out to trusted organizations and authorities in your area. You are not alone. 🫶🏻

Fact #5. S*x tourism and prostitution thrive because of poverty and our culture of silence.

Much of the demand for prostitution in the Philippines comes from tourists. As lockdowns ease back to normal, human traffickers are back to business too. Underground operators want to recoup their losses induced during COVID19 pandemic. Using internet technology and community networks, they easily sell children and women online and in preferred places. Let us fight this evil and break the culture of silence now!

Bantay Komunidad sa Dumandan (Community Watch Group in Dumandan) members have set up and launched the Hapitanan Hub, a drop-by market hub, to sell their handmade textile goods including washable facemasks, doormats, and heat pads to keep the social enterprise going amid the pandemic. The hub is located outside the organization's livelihood center in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental.

The Hapitanan Hub helps members earn while the enterprise adjusts to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety measures are strictly being implemented by VF staff and BK members.
