From classroom connections to unforgettable adventuresโ€”what an amazing learning journey in Japan!

The students of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School took learning beyond borders as they visited Sophia Fukuoka and Hiroshima Gakuin Junior and Senior High School, where they connected with fellow Jesuit students, exchanged cultures, and built new friendships through meaningful interactions and shared experiences.

But the adventure didn't stop there! The students rolled up their sleeves and became ramen and okonomiyaki chefs for a day, discovering the art behind Japan's most beloved dishes. Their journey continued by visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the beautiful island of Miyajima, taking in breathtaking views and rich traditions.

Before bidding farewell to the remarkable experience, the students explored the Mazda Museum, gaining a closer look at Japan's world-renowned automotive innovation and craftsmanship.

As the journey came to an end, the students returned home with more than just souvenirsโ€”they carried cherished memories, new friendships, and experiences that will stay with them for years to come.

Over nine days, the boys explored the wonders of ๐’๐ฒ๐๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐š๐ง๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐š, creating memories and experiences they'll carry with them for years to come!

๐Ÿ“š The boysโ€™ adventure began with an exciting immersion at ๐’๐ญ. ๐€๐ฅ๐จ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌโ€™ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐ž, where they were warmly welcomed by ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐ƒ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ž๐ฅ ๐‘๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐ข, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐‰ ๐€๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐๐ซ๐š๐ฌ (an Ateneo alumnus!), and their Aussie peers. From jamming in Music class to diving into English and Science discussions, each moment was a chance to learn, connect, and create lasting friendships. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

๐ŸŒฟ The boys dove into rich ๐€๐›๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฌ, trying their hand at traditional weaving, painting, and even learning how Aboriginal tools are used. They proudly crafted their own bracelets and artworks - souvenirs of culture and creativity! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿงต

๐ŸŒŠ They also trekked through the scenic trails leading to ๐ˆ๐ซ๐ซ๐š๐ฐ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐–๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ, taking in the fresh air and natural beauty of the Australian landscape. The day ended on a flavorful note with a hearty and unforgettable ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก ๐“๐ฎ๐œ๐ค๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ• They explored iconic spots like ๐’๐ญ. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ฒโ€™๐ฌ ๐‚๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐๐ซ๐š๐ฅ, ๐’๐ฒ๐๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐š ๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž, ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ข ๐๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก, ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐จ๐œ๐ค๐ฌ, and had the chance to walk around ๐•๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ ๐’๐ฒ๐๐ง๐ž๐ฒ.

๐Ÿซ At ๐Œ๐š๐œ๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ž ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, the group explored its state-of-the-art campus and facilities. They also took part in an insightful session with ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ง ๐Š๐š๐ซ๐ฎ๐ง๐š๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ง๐ž, where they learned about global opportunities in higher education and building future-ready careers. ๐Ÿ’ผโœจ

In ๐‚๐š๐ง๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐š, the boys stood in the halls of ๐๐š๐ซ๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž, paid their respects at the ๐€๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐–๐š๐ซ ๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ, and discovered how money is made at the ๐‘๐จ๐ฒ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ญ. The fun didnโ€™t stop there, as they had interactive science experiences at ๐๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐œ๐จ๐ง, Australiaโ€™s National Science and Technology Centre!

More than just a tour, it was a journey of ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ญ, ๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง; values the boys will carry with them wherever they go. ๐Ÿ’™

The goodbyes were tough and the sepanx is real, but the memories made will last a ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž.

For their 9-day educational and cultural journey across the land of the rising sun, the boys of Ateneo JHS experienced a wide range of exciting, enriching, and unforgettable moments!

๐ŸŽ“ At ๐‡๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฆ๐š ๐†๐š๐ค๐ฎ๐ข๐ง ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ & ๐’๐ž๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, they were warmly welcomed for a 2-day study tour filled with meaningful exchange. They joined classes, reflected on the life of Pedro Arrupe, participated in a prayer for peace, and got hands-on with Japanese culture! โœ‚๏ธ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโšฝ

โ›ฉ๏ธ In ๐‡๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฆ๐š, they explored landmarks like the Peace Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima. They also tried their hand at making okonomiyaki, a delicious local dish, in a fun cooking class experience! ๐Ÿณ

๐ŸŒ For an inspiring look into science, innovation, and sustainability, the boys explored the future of global collaboration at the ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐จ ๐Ž๐ฌ๐š๐ค๐š ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“! They visited interactive and thought-provoking pavilions, including the Philippine Pavilion ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ. They also discovered real-world solutions at the Best Practices program. โœจ

From bustling markets in Dotonbori to peaceful walks through Fushimi Inari and Nara Park, every day offered something new to learn, taste, and experience. โ›ฉ๏ธ๐Ÿต๐Ÿข
