As we celebrate National Heritage Month, we honor the Ata Community of Barangay Puey, Sagay City - one of the indigenous communities preserving the rich cultural heritage of Negros Occidental. Known as among the earliest inhabitants of the Visayas and Negros islands, the Ati or Ata continue to keep their traditions, stories, craftsmanship, and way of life alive through generations. From their journey of resilience and rebuilding in Barangay Puey to their continued participation in cultural tourism and heritage initiatives, the community stands as a living reminder that heritage lives not only in places, but also in people, traditions, and shared stories. ❤️🌾
