𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺’𝘀 (𝗗𝗢𝗧) 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 (𝗧𝗖𝗖)!
Out of nearly 100 entries from local government units (LGUs) nationwide, 15 outstanding proposals from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were personally honored by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Tourism Sec. Cristina Garcia Frasco on Monday (Apr. 15) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
Each winning proposal from the three regions received the following prize amounts: PHP20 million for 1st place; PHP15 million for 2nd place; PHP10 million for 3rd place; PHP8 million for 4th place; and PHP7 million for 5th place. This cumulative amount of PHP180 million had been granted in collaboration with the DOT’s infrastructure arm, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
For the Mindanao Cluster, the 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 (𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗦)’𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 was adjudged 3rd place.
Anchored on the City’s priority agenda on environmental management and protection, Samal Island’s mangrove boardwalk project is envisioned to sustain the convergence of infrastructure, economics, and environmental development for the benefit of local communities.
4th Place went to 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 for their project -- 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗺: 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲-𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 which has been designed to enrich the heritage tourism circuit of Tagum City.
It aims to provide greater opportunities for tourism enterprises, diversified livelihood options for host communities, increased income, and improved quality of life for the community-based tourism stakeholders.
