87th Infantry Battalion Join the Peace Covenant Signing for a Peaceful and Safe Election
The 87th Infantry Battalion recently participated in the Peace Covenant Signing in San Jose de Buan, Samar, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process in the region. The signing ceremony, held at the Holy Infant Church, brought together key stakeholders, including local government officials, law enforcement agencies, and representatives from various political groups.
The Peace Covenant signifies a collective commitment to maintaining peace and order throughout the election period, with all parties pledging to refrain from violence, illegal activities, and any actions that could undermine the integrity of the electoral process. In collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and various civil society organizations, the 87th Infantry Battalion emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in safeguarding every voter’s rights.
LTC KIM M ILAO INF (GSC) PA, Battalion Commander of the 87th Infantry Battalion, expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting the military's role in preserving peace and order while ensuring the safety and security of the electorate and all election-related activities.
