Day 2 | Basic Tourism Statistics Training

The training was graced by the presence of DOT Region III Regional Director Richard G. Daenos, Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of accurate and reliable tourism statistics in tourism planning and development.

The day’s session was led by Ms. Brena Mae Membrere, who discussed the significance of domestic and international tourism, the various forms and systems used for collecting and maintaining tourism databases by both Local Government Units (LGUs) and tourism stakeholders, as well as the LGU Supply Data Forms utilized in tourism statistics and reporting.

Through this learning opportunity, participants continue to enhance their knowledge and skills in tourism data management, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and sustainable tourism development.

The demonstration featured Valenciana, one of the well-loved delicacies of the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, highlighting its rich flavors, preparation process, and cultural significance. Delegates gained a deeper appreciation of how local cuisine reflects the city’s heritage and traditions.

As part of the convention’s culinary heritage activities, the cooking demonstration showcased the importance of food in storytelling and tourism, offering participants a flavorful glimpse into the rich culture of San Jose del Monte.

The City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan wrapped up Day 2 of the 13th National Tour Guides Convention and General Assembly with ARYA Night—an evening of culture, artistry, and camaraderie—held at the New Government Center in Brgy. Dulong Bayan on June 15, 2026.

The program featured welcome remarks from Mr. Roberto P. Ramirez Jr., MBA, Head of the City Tourism Office; a Gratitude Talk from Mr. Angelo Paolo Chico, National Convention Chair; and special messages from Hon. Julieta Abella, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, and Mr. Jayson Uy Tan, President of the Philippine Federation of Tour Guides.

Adding color and vibrancy to the celebration were captivating performances by Sining Tanglawan and the Kundiman Singers, showcasing Filipino artistry, creativity, and cultural pride through music and dance.

More than just a cultural presentation, ARYA Night served as an opportunity to strengthen friendships and foster unity among delegates as they celebrated their shared passion for promoting tourism, heritage, and culture in the Philippines.

Our Tourism Industry Unit participated in the Basic Tourism Statistics Training facilitated by DOT Region III and hosted by the City Government of Malolos through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, Tourism and Tourism Office.

This training is to further strengthen our capabilities in gathering and managing tourism data essential for informed planning and decision-making.

Together, we continue to build a stronger and more data-driven tourism industry for the City of San Jose del Monte.

HAPPENING NOW:

The City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan proudly welcomes the 300 delegates of the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guides Associations, Inc. as part of the celebration of the 13th National Tour Guides Convention and General Assembly, taking place today, June 15, 2026.

As one of the highlights of the celebration, the delegates were given the opportunity to visit some of the city’s key attractions and landmarks, including the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto Church, the Riverpark Esplanade, and the New Government Center (NGC). Through these visits, participants were able to appreciate the city’s rich heritage, ongoing developments, and unique tourism offerings.

The activity serves as an avenue to showcase the City of San Jose del Monte’s growing tourism landscape while fostering stronger connections among tourism professionals and stakeholders from different parts of the country.

Adding color and excitement to the program was Sophia Baluyut, Binibining Tanglawan Sining at Kultura 2025, who served as host for the event. The celebration was further enlivened by captivating performances from the First City Providential College Baliktanaw and Sining Tanglawan of San Jose del Monte, showcasing the city’s vibrant talent and cultural pride.

Through its participation, the City Tourism Office continues to support initiatives that honor our nation’s history while promoting the rich culture and artistry of San Jose del Monte.

Dinaluhan ito ng mga opisyal ng lungsod sa pangunguna ng Punong Lungsod, Igg. Florida P. Robes, at Pangalawang Punong Lungsod, Igg. Arlene Bartolome-Arciaga; mga Punong Barangay ng Distrito 1 at 2 sa pangunguna ni Kap. Zosimo Lorenzo; mga Department Heads sa pangunguna ni Atty. Rizaldy L. Mendoza; mga kinatawan ng Knights of Rizal – South Bulacan Chapter sa pangunguna ni Sir Ramon Sarmiento; mga estudyante ng ROTC mula sa City College of San Jose del Monte; kinatawan mula sa Department of Education, ang Schools Division Superintendent, Leonardo Canlas; Philippine National Police sa pangunguna ni PLTCOL Reyson Bagain; Bureau of Fire Protection sa pangunguna ng City Fire Marshal na si FCINSP Julius Cesar L. Dejos; at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology sa pangunguna nina JCINSP Cecilia M. Tamayo at JCINSP Cherifer B. Apostol.

Naging matagumpay ang programa sa tulong ng mga pagtatanghal mula sa St. Joseph Brass Band, Allegro Musica, at Sinagtala Performing Arts Group. Ang kanilang makabuluhan at makabayang presentasyon ay lalong nagbigay-buhay sa paggunita sa kagitingan, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal sa bayan ng ating mga bayani.

Isang pagpupugay sa kalayaang ipinaglaban ng ating mga ninuno at isang paalala na patuloy nating isabuhay ang diwa ng pagkakaisa, pagmamahal sa bayan, at responsableng pagkamamamayan.
