Muling nangibabaw ang ganda ng Laiya Beach ng bayan ng San Juan matapos itong maging recipient ng Recreational Aqua Management Merit of Excellence ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau para sa Water Summit 2026.

Ang naturang pagkilala ay nakaangkla sa temang “Recognizing Inclusive and Community-Centered Management of Recreational Waters,” na nagbibigay-diin sa kahalagahan ng ligtas, malinis, at maayos na pangangalaga ng mga dinarayong karagatan at katubigan, kasabay ng pagsuporta sa kabuhayan at kapakanan ng lokal na komunidad.

Bilang isang dinarayong tourist destination, patuloy na pinatutunayan ng Laiya Beach ang kahalagahan ng responsableng turismo. Sa pamamagitan ng maayos na monitoring ng kalidad ng tubig at pagpapatupad ng mga pamantayan sa kalinisan, nagiging halimbawa ito ng epektibong pangangalaga sa kapaligiran.

Ayon sa EMB, ang parangal ay naglalayong hikayatin ang mahigpit na pagsunod sa Guidelines on Recreational Waterbody Monitoring sa ilalim ng MC 2015-06. Binibigyang-pansin din nito ang best practices sa pamamahala ng mga anyong-tubig upang maprotektahan ang kalusugan ng publiko at ang kalikasan.

Dahil sa pagkilalang ito, inaasahang lalo pang mapapalakas ang reputasyon ng Laiya Beach bilang isa sa mga nangungunang beach destination sa CALABARZON at sa buong bansa.

Pinuri naman ng lokal na pamahalaan, sa pangunguna ni MAYOR ILDEBRANDO D. SALUD, ang sama-samang pagsisikap ng mga stakeholder, environmental advocates, at ng komunidad. Katuwang ang Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Municipal Tourism Office, at mga resort owner, ang pagkilala ay bunga ng kolektibong adhikain na mapanatili ang mayamang yamang-dagat at baybayin ng bayan.
