KABAYAN PARTYLIST FILES CERTIFICATE OF NOMINATION AND ACCEPTANCE FOR THE 2022 NATIONAL ELECTIONS
(On Friday, October 1, 2021, KABAYAN Partylist filed its Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance with the COMELEC for the 2022 National Elections.)
On October 1, 2022, KABAYAN Partylist or Kabalikat ng Mamamayan filed its Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance for the coming 2022 national elections.
KABAYAN Partylist’s 1st nominee is Atty. Ron P. Salo who is now on his second term as the representative of KABAYAN Partylist. Atty. Salo is a seasoned lawyer and educator who used to teach at the U.P. College of Law and the De La Salle University College of Law. Atty. Salo is also a preacher at the Free Christian Church of Alabang (FCCA), an Evangelical Christian Church under the F.R.E.E. Mission Philippines. Among the notable legislative measures that Atty. Salo sponsored as a congressman includes the Universal Health Care Act, Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act, Student Fare Discount Act, Transnational Higher Education Act, Mental Health Act, and the National Integrated Cancer Control Act.
KABAYAN’s 2nd nominee is Dr. Jonathan David “Jondi” Flavier, the son of the late Dr. Juan Flavier, a former Health Secretary and Senator. Dr. Jondi Flavier co-hosted the weekly television show on health – Salamat Dok which used to air at ABS-CBN. Currently, he is one the anchors of the Cignal OnePh TV program, Clinica Flavier.
Completing the nominees for KABAYAN Partylist are Bishop Paul P. Hernandez of the Evangelical Free Church (EFC) and former representative of KABAYAN Partylist in the 17th Congress as its 3rd nominee; Dr. Richard T. Mata, a pediatrician and online health information advocate with more than a million followers, and who previously served as consultant of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Department of Health (DOH) in the fight against dengue, as its 4th nominee; and Noemie D. Bustamante who heads the Kabayan Action Group which assists the PNP and the AFP in the campaign against crime and other illegal activities, and supports the government on moral recovery programs, as 5th nominee.
KABAYAN Partylist’s core advocacies include KAlusugan, paBAhay, at kabuhaYAN. In addition to these core advocacies, KABAYAN Partylist also advocates for the right to quality education and the promotion for welfare of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Salo said that, “ako ay umaasa na muling susuportahan ng ating mga kababayan ang KABAYAN Partylist. Makaaasa ang ating mga kababayan na patuloy na isusulong ng KABAYAN Partylist ang mga pulisiya at proyektong lalong mag-aangat sa buhay ng bawat Pilipino.”
