The Provincial Government of Sorsogon, through the Sorsogon Provincial Tourism, Culture and Arts Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region V Office, 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗢𝗧-𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹/ 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 in the province to participate in the 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

This initiative supports the Department of Tourism - Philippines’ vision of promoting and strengthening Filipino identity within the tourism industry by encouraging the meaningful integration of local culture, traditions, heritage, and creative expressions into tourism products, services, and visitor experiences. It also aligns with the updated National Accommodation Standards under DOT Memorandum Circular No. 2024-0002, which incorporates Filipinization indicators for tourism establishments.

Anchored on the tourism brand “Beautiful Sorsogon,” the training aims to enhance the capacity of tourism stakeholders in delivering authentic, culturally rooted, and competitive tourism experiences that showcase the province’s unique heritage while celebrating the Filipino identity.

Under the leadership of Governor Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor, this program seeks to further strengthen Sorsogon’s cultural distinctiveness and position the province as a destination where local identity, heritage, and hospitality are proudly reflected in every visitor experience.

𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 '𝐝𝐢 𝐤𝐚 𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧

Mahigit isang siglo na ang nakakaraan mula noong makamit ng ating bayan ang ganap na kasarinlan mula sa mga kolonyalistang Espanyol. Dugo ng ating matatapang na mga ninuno ang naging kabayaran ng tinatamasa nating kalayaan sa kasalukuyan.

Makalipas ang 128 taon, nasaan na nga ba tayo bilang isang bayan?

Sa hindi mabilang na mga rason, marami ang nadidismaya sa kalagayan ng bayan ngayon. Ang malawakang korapsyon na nagpapalubog sa ilang mga bayan sa baha. Ang kahirapan na dama hanggang sa kaibuturan ng sikmura ng ating mga kabayayan. Ang paglaganap ng fake news at disinformation na lumalason sa isipan ng publiko. Ang kakulangan ng akses sa dekalidad na edukasyon na pumapatay sa mga pangarap, at sa maayos at makamasang sistemang pangkalusugan. Ang paulit-ulit na pagtapak sa mga karapatang pantao. Ilan lamang ito sa samu’t saring hinaing ng taumbayan.

Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat ng ito, maituturing na isang kalapastanganan ang pagtalikod sa bayan. Ang patuloy na pagbubulag-bulagan at pagwawalang-kibo ay isang malaking insulto sa mga nagbuwis ng buhay para sa kalayaang ito.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: Heavy rains did not hinder the people of Sta. Magdalena from celebrating a rare celestial phenomenon as they poured their support into the 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 which was held last May 31, 2026, at Sta. Magdalena Integrated Transport Terminal.

The event, which was initiated by our ever-dynamic Municipal Mayor Mark Jewery Lozano, featured a variety of performances that highlighted the capabilities of our homegrown talents.

The Sorsogon Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office reminds all tourism stakeholders and tourism enterprises in the Province of Sorsogon to ensure the timely renewal of their DOT Accreditation.

DOT Accreditation serves as a mark of quality, safety, and excellence in tourism service delivery. Maintaining a valid accreditation not only strengthens visitors’ confidence but also demonstrates compliance with national tourism standards and regulations.

All accommodation establishments, travel and tour services, tourist transport operators, MICE organizers and venues, and other tourism-related enterprises are encouraged to review the prescribed renewal schedules and expiration dates to avoid lapses in accreditation.

The Provincial Government of Sorsogon, under the leadership of Governor Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor, remains committed to promoting quality tourism services and enhancing the competitiveness of Sorsogon’s tourism industry through continuous collaboration with the Department of Tourism and local tourism stakeholders.
