𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Local Government of Sta. Magdalena, through the Office of Sangguniang Bayan, recognized individuals, groups, and institutions whose invaluable contributions led to the success of Busaingan Festival 2026 during the Monday Flag raising ceremony.

Among the awardees were the authors of “Alamat ni Busaingan,” Ms. Ma. Rowena Escarda and Mr. Erick Gayanes; The Royal Empress Production; Pintig, and other local choreographers, artists, and designers.

The LGU also acknowledged the unwavering efforts of the 13 barangays to promoting the local festival.

Such initiative was a testament to LGU’s steadfast commitment to preserving the town’s cultural heritage and supporting homegrown talents.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: Driven by passion and love for local heritage, the Local Government Unit of Sta. Magdalena, along with the members of the Municipal Tourism, Culture and Arts Council and local artists' group successfully conducted a benchmarking activity on August 13 in Legazpi City.

The ten-member delegation witnessed the Ibalong Z: A New Bikol Musical – an amazing display of culture, artistry, and music, seamlessly blended with modern nuances that captured the hearts of the audiences.

Spearheaded by Councilor Arlene Lozano-Forte, chair on Committee on Tourism, with the full support of Municipal Mayor Mark Jewery Lozano, the benchmarking activity was aimed at gaining firsthand insights on stage production, storytelling, and audience engagement, as the LGU explores the potential of “Alamat ni Busaingan” as a musical play.

The activity was in partnership with the City Government of Legazpi, through Councilor Alan Raňola and City Tourism Officer Ricky Loterte, who gifted the team with VIP tickets and immersive Ibalong experience.
