One of the most famous ships in the world is about to undergo another major transformation more than 20 years after first entering service.

Cunard has officially revealed plans for a major enhancement project aboard Queen Mary 2, with significant upgrades expected across several areas of the legendary ocean liner starting in 2027.

And some of the newly revealed changes are already generating huge discussion among cruise fans.

👉 Queen Mary 2 will reportedly receive an entirely new block of Princess Grill cabins.
👉 Around 30 additional staterooms are expected to be added overall.
👉 A brand-new sun deck is also reportedly being added on Deck 14.

But not every change involves adding new spaces.

Some existing public areas are also expected to disappear during the refit, including the ship’s bookshop and Concierge Lounge.

👉 The former bookshop space is reportedly expected to become a new Penthouse Suite positioned beside Queen Mary 2’s famous scenic elevators.

And perhaps most surprisingly…

⚠️ The refit is also expected to include a major external modification that could permanently alter some of Queen Mary 2’s iconic exterior lines.

The work is currently scheduled to take place in March 2027.

👉 Cunard says the ship’s scheduled sailings are not expected to be disrupted.

Passengers sailing before the refit will still experience Queen Mary 2 in her current form, while the refreshed version of the ship is expected to debut beginning in May 2027.
