The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sindangan, under the dynamic leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Glona G. Labadlabad, continues to be a strong partner and beneficiary of the Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) grants from DSWD.

From 2017 to 2023, a total of 58 SLPAs were granted a cumulative amount of ₱23,279,385, benefitting around 24 barangays with various livelihood initiatives. In the years 2024 to 2025, an additional 24 SLPAs were awarded ₱11,215,000 to support further livelihood projects across the municipality.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has officially turned over the monitoring and supervision of the initial 58 SLPAs to the LGU of Sindangan, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) on July 31, 2025 at Bgry. La Roche San Miguel, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte. This brings the total livelihood assistance received by the municipality to ₱34,494,385.

Looking ahead, the LGU is actively exploring further partnerships with DSWD to expand livelihood opportunities for all sectors in Sindangan. These efforts aim to uplift the economic conditions of the Sindanganon people, empowering them to become productive members of their families and valuable contributors to the growth and development of the entire community.
