The Local Government Unit of Siruma, Camarines Sur headed by 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗥. 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 successfully conducted the 𝘿𝑶𝙏-𝙑 𝙎𝒊𝙧𝒂𝙢 𝘾𝒂𝙢𝒔𝙪𝒓 𝑭𝙤𝒐𝙙 𝘼𝒔𝙨𝒆𝙨𝒔𝙢𝒆𝙣𝒕 𝒂𝙣𝒅 𝑽𝙖𝒍𝙞𝒅𝙖𝒕𝙞𝒐𝙣 𝙏𝒓𝙞𝒑 last 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the 𝐒i𝐫u𝐦a M𝐚n𝐠r𝐨v𝐞 𝐋e𝐚r𝐧i𝐧g C𝐞n𝐭e𝐫 in Brgy. Pamintan-Bantilan, Siruma, Camarines Sur.

The activity was led by the 𝙈𝒖𝙣𝒊𝙘𝒊𝙥𝒂𝙡 𝙏𝒐𝙪𝒓𝙞𝒔𝙢 𝙊𝒇𝙛𝒊𝙘𝒆 represented by 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗖. 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗱 (𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗜), in coordination with 𝙈𝒖𝙣𝒊𝙘𝒊𝙥𝒂𝙡 𝙀𝒏𝙫𝒊𝙧𝒐𝙣𝒎𝙚𝒏𝙩 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙉𝒂𝙩𝒖𝙧𝒂𝙡 𝙍𝒆𝙨𝒐𝙪𝒓𝙘𝒆𝙨 𝙊𝒇𝙛𝒊𝙘𝒆 and local civil society groups.

Food Mapping Validators from the Department of Tourism Region V Office, headed by 𝓡𝓮𝓰𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓓𝓲𝓻𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓸𝓻 𝓗𝓮𝓻𝓫𝓲𝓮 𝓑. 𝓐𝓰𝓾𝓪𝓼, came on-site to conduct an assessment of the 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡 (𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙖). The Takal Shell is a wild-harvested marine bivalve gleaned from Siruma's intertidal mudflats and mangrove zones, and has long been part of the culinary tradition of the municipality's coastal communities.

𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐃. 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨 (𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗥𝗢-𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲) presented the 𝑺𝒊𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒂 (𝑺𝑴𝑳𝑪𝑨) to the Validators, along with the role the Takal Shell plays in keeping the mangrove ecosystem healthy.

A live cooking demonstration of 𝐀d𝐨b𝐨 𝐬a G𝐚t𝐚 "T𝐚k𝐚l S𝐡e𝐥l" was presented as the main entry for LGU Siruma's local signature dish.

The 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗮 views this validation as an important step toward recognizing the Takal Shell as part of the region's diverse culinary assets. It is harvested through a gleaning tradition that has been practiced for generations, with local harvesters adopting sustainable practices by leaving juvenile shellfish population to thrive until it reaches maturity.

The 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗮 thanks the entire team of 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 - 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 including the food validators for the partnership and support extended to the local tourism sector.

The Department of Tourism Region V Office coordinated with the Local Government Unit of Siruma, Camarines Sur headed by Municipal Mayor Carina R. Polinga through its Municipal Tourism Office and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO-Designate), to conduct a site assessment and validation activity for the proposed Siruma Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) on July 1-2, 2026.

The two-day activity involved assessing existing local tourist attractions, from mangrove forest, white sand beaches, to mesmerizing hilly terrain that will benefit from increased accessibility, ultimately aiming to stimulate the local economy, promote sustainable community-based tourism, and position Siruma as a premier agri-ecotourism destination in the region.

🌊✨ Siruma Welcomes Tourists This Semana Santa 2026! ✨🌊

𝑺𝒊𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒂 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎, 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑺𝑰𝑻𝑪𝑨𝑶) enjoins the Local Government Unit of Siruma, Camarines Sur in the observance of 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝑎𝘯𝑎 𝘚𝑎𝘯𝘵𝑎 2026 𝘖𝘱𝘭𝑎𝘯 𝘓𝑎𝘬𝘣𝑎𝘺 𝘈𝘭𝑎𝘭𝑎𝘺 activity to ensure the safety, assistance, and overall well-being of tourists visiting the municipality during the long weekend.
