𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗢 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦

Fourteen tricycle drivers have completed their training under the City Government of Surigao’s Tricycle Tour Year 2 program and are now certified tour guides, ready to share the city’s stories and sights with both locals and tourists.

Their official identification cards were handed over today, July 7, 2025, during the Monday Flag Ceremony at the City Hall. Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II led the distribution, joined by City Councilor Arnold Go, Dr. Faith Elumba, Atty. Noel Catre, Karl Duane Casurra, Perfecto Consigo, Joenil Aldonza, SK Federation President Jenelyn Edulzura, Liga ng mga Barangay President Florenillo Ravelo, and City Tourism Officer Roselyn Armida Merlin.

These 14 newly certified drivers join the 13 tour guides trained in 2024, bringing the total to 27 licensed tricycle tour guides in Surigao City.

As part of their training, participants completed a familiarization tour to key destinations including the caves of Barangays Mapawa and Silop, and the mangrove areas in Barangay Day-asan.

The Tricycle Tour initiative, led by the Surigao City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, aims to boost local tourism by offering visitors a safe, informative, and authentic way to experience Surigao.

The Technical Working Group of the City Tourism Development Plan successfully get the endorsement of the Economic Development Committee (EDC) of the City Development Council during it’s committee meeting held today, July 2, 2025, at the Banahao Conference Room, City Mayor's Office.

During the meeting, the Office also presented the Local Annual Cultural Development and Investment Plan for FY 2026, the Sitio Brazil Eco-Tourism Park Development Project, and the Surigao River Esplanade Development Project.

The office is grateful to the EDC , the TWG of CTDP - 2025-2029 and the City Planning and Development Office for their technical support and assistance.

The Mural Painting Contest begins! 🎨🖌️

10 Surigaonon visual artists' groups are all set to showcase their painting skills and bring the rich culture of our indigenous people, the Mamanwa, to life through their art today at the Bonotan area, Rizal Street, Barangay Washington, Surigao City.

The City Government of Surigao, through the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, is partnering with the Office of the Building Official, led by Architect Donjie Zerda, JCI Nickel Surigao, United Architects of the Philippines - Surigao Chapter and the Barangay Washington Council.

Get ready to be amazed by the masterpieces they'll create!

Our newly trained tricycle tour guides and drivers completed a familiarization tour at the breathtaking caves of Barangay Mapawa and Barangay Silop, followed by a mangrove tour in Barangay Day-asan. This initiative was designed to better equip our local guides in providing an immersive and informative experience to tourists exploring Surigao City’s natural attractions.

We extend our sincere thanks to the supportive barangay councils of Mapawa, Silop, and Day-asan for their warm hospitality and cooperation in making this activity a success.

The Surigao City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office successfully convened the 2nd Quarter SCATA Meeting on June 3, 2025, at Surigao Royal Regency Suites. A total of 28 members from various accommodation establishments participated in the activity.

The meeting highlighted the presentation of the latest tourism statistics report, DOT accredited EAs, update information on community-based tourism organizations, existing tour packages, and other key developments. It also included the election of the organization’s officer.

This quarterly gathering reflects the city’s continued commitment to strengthening collaboration with tourism stakeholders and promoting the growth and sustainability of Surigao City's tourism industry.
