Dreaming of striking a work-life balance where the beach is just a few steps away? It’s a reality for Lubihan Siargao’s operations officer, Sheen. She’s been working in our little hotel since 2019 when we only had four rooms. Having grown up in the province, heading to Siargao for work and now calling it home wasn’t too much of an adjustment for Sheen. It also helps that once she heads out of work, she can just walk to the beach and have her fill of sand and surf.

When she’s not running the day-to-day operations at Lubihan Siargao, Sheen puts on her apron for her other passion—baking. makes delicious coconut tarts that are good enough to bring back home as pasalubong from the island and affordable enough for both locals and tourists.

Her tip to Siargao visitors when it comes to eating out around the island: Sheen knows where to splurge and where to save. Yes, Siargao has amazing restaurants and bars that are absolutely worth visiting, but whenever you’re on a budget, she also recommends checking out the turo-turo stalls around town for good Filipino food. For under ₱200, you can enjoy rice, ulam, and veggies—if you’re adventurous enough to try!

Meet our Ate Joy! 🥰She’s been with us here at Lubihan Siargao since we opened in 2019. We’ve worked hand in hand with her to rebuild our lives and their home after Typhoon Odette devastated most of the island. 🏝

We’ve had the privilege to see how her three kids are growing up and she’s seen how Lubihan Siargao has also grown from a 4-room accommodations to a cozy 14-room hotel right in the middle of General Luna. Trained in housekeeping and hospitality, Ate Joy is one of dearest Lubihan Siargao family member to welcome you and make sure your room is clean and comfy.
