TRAVEL REMINDERS FOR HOLY WEEK 2025

We anticipate a large volume of passengers will travel to, from and within the Philippines during the coming Holy Week period (April 13 to 20, 2025).

Below are a few reminders to help you prepare and plan for a smooth Holy Week journey:

• Skip the lines. You may check-in via our website or the PAL mobile app 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight.

• Stay within your free baggage allowance. Please ensure that your bags are within the free baggage allowance of your booking class and declare your items during check-in.

• Hit the road earlier to get to the airport on time. Expect heavy traffic, especially in the bigger cities like Manila and Cebu, so leave home extra early. For Holy Week, we encourage you to check-in:

· As early as three (3) to four (4) hours before departure for domestic flights at NAIA Terminal 2
· As early as four (4) to five (5) hours before departure for international flights at NAIA Terminal 1

• Check before you fly. It’s a good idea to check the latest update on the status of your flight by logging on to our website, www.philippineairlines.com. Simply click the Flight Status tab and type in your flight details. Flight status information is available from 2 days before your flight and is updated regularly.

• Know your terminal and boarding gate. Always check and listen to public announcements for updates, in case there might be changes. You can also check the Airport Terminal information page on our website.

• Make sure you have a valid passport, IDs, and travel documents.

For International trips:

- Passport should be valid at least 6 months from your date of travel
- The name on your ticket must be exactly the same as the name reflected in your passport
- Ensure that you have the required visas, permits, vaccination card (if appropriate) and other documents required for your destination

For Domestic trips:

- Bring your valid government, school, or company-issued ID
- Ensure that the name on your ticket is exactly the same as the name reflected in the ID presented upon check-in and boarding

Please be advised that there's no additional fee/charge when bringing an urn to flight. Note that ashes from cremation in urns transported as hand-carry luggage are allowed provided:
1. Death Certificate (or a true copy thereof, with proper translation, certified by the appropriate authorities from the country of origin.
2. Cremation Certificate (stating that the human remains have been properly cremated and the ashes shall be placed in a hermetically sealed urn or a similar container) that will be required by the Airline, Airport Security, and Customs.
3. CSA shall remind the guest that urns may be carried as hand carry, provided the guest is responsible for its handling and that it is secure in his possession.
https://t.co/3GjFHrxuks some countries, like the USA guest may be required to have the ashes placed in a clear plastic bag (before this is placed in an urn) so that TSA and the screening personnel will be able to examine this through an x-ray machine.
5. Other countries also require a certificate of cremation aside from the Death Certificate (Australia, Korea, and Taiwan).
Hope this helps.
