Advisory for All NAIA Passengers

To better protect your travel documents and reduce unnecessary contact, all NAIA security personnel have been instructed not to touch passports during terminal entry and security verification. Passengers will simply be asked to show their valid ID or travel document by holding it up themselves.

The recent incident involving a torn passport occurred at an airline check-in counter at NAIA Terminal 3. There has been no report of any mishandling involving NAIA security personnel.

As the airport operator, and in the spirit of teamwork with all stakeholders, we continue to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all passengers.

We are working closely with our airline partners, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to strengthen procedures and make sure incidents like this do not happen again.

Even a minor tear or any unauthorized marking may be considered as damage to a passport, which can lead to denied boarding, the airline said.

Going on a flight this coming holy week? CAAP reiterates the battery capacity limits of portable electronic devices (PEDs), such as power banks, that can be carried in flights.

Only PEDs with 100Wh batteries are allowed without restrictions on board.

To calculate the watt-hour (Wh) capacity of your power bank: Wh = (mAh x Voltage)/1000.

• Explosives and flammable items
• Fireworks

• Bleach or cleaning chemicals

The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) on Saturday said that married women who will renew their passports may now voluntarily revert to their maiden names.

In an advisory, the DFA-OCA said the reversion to maiden names was pursuant to New Philippine Passport Act or Republic Act. No. 11983.

Visayas State University hosted the Orientation on Study, Work, and Live in Australia presented by RS Migration Services of Sydney, Australia and coordinated by Red and White Rays Travel Agency.
