Opened the year spotting, closed it spotting too.
I really had no intention to spot today as I have done it for the past consecutive days since Monday. I just wanted to take a rest and enjoy the holiday. Then came an usual notification from my flight tracking app; saying that a Qatar Airways flight using A7-BOF is coming to Manila. I don't remember what this aircraft is at first. But upon checking, it's the one with the white-colored fuselage instead of the normal two-toned white and gray fuselage. Apparently, I have set an alarm for this specific aircraft and forgot all about it!
This specific aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER with MSN 37940 was leased from Castlelake Aviation last December 2022 as per Planespotters.net after being withdrawn from use from its original operator, Virgin Australia (but it was delivered when it was still named V Australia). Perhaps the decision not to paint over the fuselage with gray paint may be due to cost saving measures or probably since the aircraft was leased, it will be easier to return it as there will be lesser effort to remove branding when its time is done.
All white, it felt so clean. Hopefully we start the new year in a clean slate; wrapping up any conflicts we have this year and leave them all behind.
So there it is, my last plane spotting session for 2025. Happy to say I spotted on the first and last day of 2025.
Happy New Year everyone!
