Day 7 🌿🪙

A wishing well inside a cave? Of course I had to try it 😭✨

And yes… my wish was simple: to pass and survive our upcoming final defense 🤞📚😭

But honestly, visiting Saob Cave in Basey, Samar made me appreciate our culture even more. The place may look simple, but the experience, the peaceful vibe, and the connection to the local banig weaving tradition made it more special and amazing for me. 🤍

How to get there?
Just ride a bus or van going to Basey, Samar — Saob Cave is located along the highway, so it’s very accessible and easy to visit. 🌿✨

Try making a wish there too… who knows, it might come true. 😉

DAY 7

Silangaw Falls is not about being famous or extravagant. It is about showing you how nature flows freely and why the locals keep it simple. No loud resorts. No crowded parking. Just clean, cold water falling quietly in the middle of the forest.

What to do:

Bring your trash back with you
Respect the peace and quiet

What not to do:

Leave any plastic or waste behind
Damage plants or carve on rocks
Come to respect nature, not to ruin it.

📍Day 7

Luan Beach, Tolosa, Leyte 🌊🌴

Tucked along the coast of Tolosa, Luan Beach is the kind of spot locals keep lowkey but always come back to. No big resorts, no entrance drama just a long stretch of shoreline, swaying coconut trees, and water that’s calm enough for wading, swimming, and staying in way longer than you planned.

What makes it worth the trip:
🌅 Sunrise and sunset both hit different here. The open view over the Leyte Gulf gives you that wide, unblocked sky that shifts from gold to deep orange in minutes
🏖️ Dark sand, gentle waves, and plenty of space to lay out a mat, set up a picnic, or just sit and stare at the horizon without anyone bumping into you
🐟 Super chill vibe. You’ll see kids playing, fishermen prepping their boats, and families grilling by the shore. It feels lived-in, not staged

Quick tips before you go:
📍 About 20-30 min from Tacloban, along the coastal road in Tolosa
🍗 Bring your own food and drinks. There are small sari-sari stores nearby, but best to come prepared if you’re staying late
🌙 If you stay for the night, bonfires and star gazing are the move. The area is quiet and the sky opens up once the sun’s down
🚗 Easy to reach by car or motorbike, but parking is right by the shore so don’t leave valuables unattended

It’s simple, it’s local, and it’s the kind of beach where time slows down without you noticing.

Who’s coming with you to catch the next sunset here? 🌅

DAY 7: Tangkaan Beach, Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte

There's a reason Tangkaan Beach keeps showing up on every "must-visit" list in the Philippines — and it's not just because of how impossibly beautiful it is. It's because the people behind it work hard every single day to keep it that way. This is a beach that gives back — to nature, and to the community that calls it home.

💬 If Tangkaan Beach isn't on your bucket list yet — it is now. Have you ever visited a community-protected beach that left you completely speechless? Share your story below and let's inspire more people to explore the beauty of Southern Leyte!

A lowkey place is a unique one!!!

There is a specific kind of stillness that you can only find when you’re standing right where the land meets the ocean. It’s that rare moment where the noise of daily responsibilities, deadlines, and the constant hum of the city just fades away, replaced entirely by the rhythmic sound of the waves and the feeling of the wind.
I’ve been realizing lately how important it is to find these pockets of peace. It isn't always about the grandest destination or the most polished resort; sometimes, the best experiences come from the simplest places—the ones that feel authentic, unhurried, and genuinely refreshing. Whether it’s to clear your head, catch a moment of reflection, or just soak in the view, this spot has a way of helping you hit the reset button. It’s a quiet reminder to slow down, breathe, and appreciate exactly where you are.

Lost in the beauty of Liloan. WALANG HALONG BIRO! Ang sarap lang mag-relax dito kung saan tanaw ang dagat at ang payapang paligid. Sometimes, you just need to get away a little to feel better (anuraw?).

Long rides man from Tacloban or any location from Leyte, sulit na sulit ang byahe basta kasama ang pamilya o tropa. Tara, sasama ka ba?
