Lady Buddha in Da Nang (Vietnam) — known locally as Lady Buddha — is one of the most iconic landmarks and spiritual sites in central Da Nang City, Vietnam.

🗿 What It Is

Lady Buddha is a huge white statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Quan Âm) — the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, compassion and protection. It’s often called Lady Buddha by visitors, though the proper Buddhist term refers to her as a Bodhisattva.

📍 Where It’s Located

The statue is part of Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang, Vietnam — about 9–10 km northeast of Da Nang city centre.

📏 Size & Structure

Height: ~67 meters (about as tall as a 30-story building) — the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam.

Base: Sits on a lotus-shaped pedestal ~35 m wide.

Inside: There are 17 levels inside, each with Buddha shrines and statues representing different aspects of Buddhist teachings. Visitors can climb through these levels and enjoy panoramic views from within.

🌊 Spiritual & Cultural Significance

Lady Buddha is revered by locals as a guardian of fishermen and sailors, facing the East Sea to bless and protect them from storms.

The site combines religious importance and scenic beauty — a place for both prayer and peaceful reflection.

🏯 Linh Ung Pagoda

The statue stands within the larger Linh Ung Pagoda complex, which is the largest pagoda in Da Nang, blending traditional Vietnamese architecture with a serene spiritual space.

Hours: Generally open daily (typically early morning to evening).

Admission: Free (donations welcome).
