Bohol Day is celebrated every July 22 to mark the founding of the Province of Bohol as a separate political and administrative unit in the Philippines. This dates back to July 22, 1854, when Bohol (alongside Siquijor) was officially carved out from Cebu as a politico‑military province during Spanish rule. Republic Act No. 7683, enacted in February 1994, formalized this date as a non‑working holiday, honoring our province’s unique identity, unity, and heritage.
