We’ve gone through one of our worst nightmares. The tremor was so intense, it felt like something was drilling beneath the ground, rumbling so loudly that we thought Armageddon was coming. Fear and uncertainty filled the air, not knowing what would happen next or if we’d still see the days ahead. It was truly terrifying. Buildings were destroyed, old churches collapsed and bridges/roads not passable. But thank God, we made it through. Now, as other places are struck by earthquakes again, we are reminded of that tragic day 12 years ago, the fear, the loss, and the miracle of survival. 🙏

The Asin Tibuok is now a protected Philippine treasure!

officials turned over on Tuesday the certificate of geographical indication (GI) for the artisanal product to the local government of Alburquerque, celebrating the milestone of the community in reviving a once dying tradition.

With its registration as a GI, Alburquerque, Bohol hopes to see Asin Tibuok expand to more markets, provide stable livelihoods to more Boholanos and preserve its cultural practices.
