I’ll be honest…

One of the biggest mindset shifts I had to make as a travel business owner was learning not to do everything myself.

At first, I thought being the “boss” meant I had to know more, do more, and always be one step ahead.

Then I started working with people who were better than me in certain areas.

Some were better at closing clients.
Some were faster at marketing.
Some understood systems and operations better than I did.

And if I’m honest?

At first… it made me uncomfortable.

That quiet voice in my head would say:
“If they can do this better than you… what’s your role?”

That’s when I realized something important:

Building a successful travel business isn’t about being the smartest person in the room.

It’s about building a team that helps everyone win.

Everything changed when I stopped seeing talented people as competition…
and started seeing them as leverage.

Here are the biggest lessons that changed how I lead:

1/ I started asking more and controlling less.
↳ My job is not to have all the answers. It’s to bring out the best in people.

2/ I openly recognized people’s strengths.
↳ Confidence grows when people feel seen.

3/ I gave people real ownership.
↳ People show up differently when they feel trusted.

4/ I welcomed new ideas.
↳ The best businesses grow through collaboration, not ego.

5/ I became honest about what I didn’t know.
↳ Growth starts when pride ends.

6/ I measured success by how much my team grew.
↳ When my team wins, the business wins.

As a travel business owner, I’ve learned this:

You don’t build freedom by doing everything alone.

You build freedom by creating systems, trust, and leadership that allow others to shine.

The goal was never to be the hero.

The goal was to build something bigger than myself.

And honestly?

That’s when the real growth began. ✈️✨
