Noong unang panahon, maraming bahagi ng Taal Volcano ang nagkaroon ng magkakaibang bunganga at cone. Ang Binintiang Malaki ay isa sa mga ito. Ang pangalan nito ay karaniwang isinasalin bilang β€œBig Leg”.
Kilala ito dahil sa hugis nitong malaking kono na kitang-kita habang naglalakbay sa Taal Lake o kapag tanaw mula sa Tagaytay. Maraming tao ang napagkakamalang Binintiang Malaki ang mismong pangunahing crater ng Taal Volcano, pero hindi ito ang Main Crater. Isa itong hiwalay na volcanic cone/crater sa Volcano Island. οΏ½
