Finding Joy in Every Step

​The Bible tells us that God delights in every detail of our lives. As Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”
​God wants us to be happy, and His word is filled with promises of joy. Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart,” and Psalm 126:2 declares, “Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.” In fact, the command to be happy appears more times in Scripture than any other.
​The secret to happiness isn’t in the big goals we set, but in the harmony we find within ourselves. When what we think, what we say, and what we do are aligned, that is true happiness. It's a by-product of a life well-lived, not a destination to be reached.
​So, even if happiness feels far away sometimes, never forget about it completely. You can always find a moment of surprise joy, or you can create one yourself. The best way to cheer yourself up is often to try to cheer someone else up. Because as we all know, a calm and modest life brings more happiness than the constant pursuit of success.
