Prepare to be dazzled by an extraordinary sight as you enter the municipality of Pudtol - a towering giant pineapple that's sure to take your breath away.
Unveiled on June 29, 2023, the local government of Pudtol, located in the province of Apayao, takes immense pride in presenting a majestic 6-foot-tall pineapple sculpture. This unique piece of art, part of the municipality's 8th annual Pinya Festival, is assembled from 855 locally-grown pineapples sourced right from Pudtol.
This eye-catching structure is more than a visual feast, as it represents Pudtol's commitment to promoting pineapple, their One Town One Product (OTOP), underscoring the region's impressive agricultural capabilities.
Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua has been instrumental in promoting the Pinya Festival as an annual celebration, thereby firmly establishing Pudtol's reputation as a prominent pineapple producer.
The local government kick-started the day with a civic parade and inaugural ceremony for this year's Pinya Festival. The festival, which began on June 6, 2023, has been bustling with activity, showcasing an assortment of sports events, entertainment features, and diverse programs.
The festival reaches its peak on Saturday, July 1, 2023, with a series of highly-anticipated events - the vibrant street dancing competition, the main program, and the crowning of Miss ti Pudtol 2023 in the Search for the Imnas contest.
This gala celebration will conclude on July 1, with hundreds of pineapples being generously distributed to visitors and locals alike, adding an extra layer of sweetness to their Pinya Festival experience.
