FYI traveller's "COMMON MISTAKE NG MGA FILIPINO TRAVELLERS"

REPOST....

Ang common mistake ng mga Filipino travellers na nagpupunta sa Asian countries particularly around Southeast Asia eh yung umaalis sila ng isang bansa (whether jumping to another country or going back to the Philippines) ng hindi ibinabalik sa US Dollar currency ang kanilang pocket money.

Hindi nila namamalayan na nalulugi na sila ng malaki because of doing direct forex transactions from Philippine Peso to currency 1 to currency 2 to currency 3 then back to PHP again paguwi. Hindi sila aware na talong-talo na pala sila sa exchange rates. Around 20-30% or even as much as 60% ang pwede nilang ikatalo lalo na kung mga exotic currencies ang pera ng mga bansang pinuntahan nila.

"So Xian ano ba yung dapat at tamang gawin?"

Dapat bago ka umalis ng Pilipinas ang dala-dala mong pocket money ay in US Dollars. Kung maraming bansa naman ang iyong papasyalan eh dapat before ka umalis sa isang bansa eh napapalitan mo na lahat ng pera mo pabalik sa USD. Ang base currency mo dapat kahit saang bansa ka lumapag ay in USD hanggang sa makauwi ka na ng Pilipinas.

Like for example itong recent Indochina trip ko because of Nyeam Vlogs Travel Cartel online serye.

Lumapag ako ng Vietnam na ang dala ko ay 900 USD. Pinapalit ko lahat yun in Vietnam D**g pero ibinalik ko lahat sa USD bago ako tumawid ng Laos.

Pagdating ko ng Vientiane, Laos eh pinapalitan ko yung 100 USD ko at naging 870K Laos Kip. After ko mabayaran ang bus, hostel, entrance fees, then food and transpo for 3 days ay may sumobrang konti kaya may nadala pa kong 20 USD papuntang Myanmar.

Pagpunta ko naman ng Yangon eh pinapalitan ko yung sumobrang 20 USD plus another 100 USD at naging 182K Burmese Kyat lahat. After paying for everything again sa loob ng tatlong araw eh ayan ng nasa picture sa baba ang sumobra, 35 US Dollars.

Well computed ko na ang total na nagastos ko sa Laos at Myanmar trip ko for 6 days ay 165 US Dollars with a very minimal forex loss na 4%. Why? Kasi ginawa kong based currency ang USD from my origin to Vietnam to Laos to Myanmar hanggang sa makaalis na ako dito.
