Mt Everest recorded its first foreigner's death of the 2025 climbing season as 45-year-old Filipino climber Philipp II Santiago died at Camp IV while preparing for the summit push last night. He was part of the Mountaineering Association of Krishnanagar–Snowy Everest Expedition. The cause of death remains unknown. Efforts are underway to bring his body to base camp. Earlier, two Sherpa staff died after being evacuated to HAMS Hospital from the Everest base camp.
