In order to enhance convenience for visa applicants and promote visits to Korea, the required supporting documents for visa applications will be revised as follows, effective February 20, 2026.

• For all types of required documents, the submission of “three (3) months of bank statements” will be waived.

• For student applicants, the proof of student status requirement will be changed from “Original School Certificate and copy of Student ID” to “either the original School Certificate or a copy of the Student ID” (the applicant may choose and submit one).

• In cases with multiple applicants, common documents (e.g., invitation letter, family relationship documents, company-related documents, etc.) should be submitted in one (1) copy only and attached to the representative applicant’s file.

• For employment-related documents, the submission of an explanation letter will be waived in cases where there is no landline number indicated, or when it is issued with an electronic signature. As long as other reachable contact information (email address or mobile phone number) is provided, the document will be accepted.

ROYAL AIR PHILIPPINES TO CEASE COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS BY 04 JANUARY 2026, LETTER REVEALS

Royal Air Philippines (RW) is reportedly set to halt all commercial airline operations on 04 January 2026, according to a letter allegedly issued by CEO Eduardo Novillas that recently appeared on a local aviation forum. The letter, dated 22 December 2025 and addressed to the airline’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in Taiwan, reportedly informed the overseas partner of the planned cessation of flights. Although the airline has not made an official public announcement, supporting signs have emerged, including the airline’s official booking platform showing flight availability only until 03 January 2026 for both domestic and international routes, such as Manila (MNL) – Caticlan (MPH) and Caticlan (MPH) – Taipei (TPE), two of its more prominent services in recent months.
