Higher Free Baggage Allowance (20kg) on domestic turboprop flights starting June 15

Good news for our passengers:

Effective from June 15, 2022, all PAL domestic flights utilizing the De Havilland Dash-8 turboprop aircraft (except flights to and from Basco, Batanes) will offer up to 20kg Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) for Economy Value and Economy Flex passengers – a 100% increase from the previous maximum FBA of 10kg that has been in effect for several years.

The increased baggage allowance will allow more flexibility and convenience for domestic travelers, as well as result in a uniform standard for PAL domestic flights whether operated with jet or turboprop aircraft.

Passengers holding old and new tickets issued for travel on or after June 15 will be allowed to check-in up to 20kg on the applicable booking classes (Economy Value and Economy Flex).

The new FBA will apply to PAL’s turboprop flights from our Manila, Cebu, Davao and General Santos hubs, including flights to Butuan, Cotabato, Catarman, Calbayog, Dumaguete, Antique, Siargao, Legazpi, Caticlan (Boracay), Busuanga (Coron), Iloilo, Tagbilaran (Panglao), Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Clark, Davao, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

However, we will retain the current maximum FBA of 10kg for flights to and from Basco (BSO), because of unique route operational conditions that limit the baggage capacity on these flights.

The baggage rules for other fare types will remain unchanged: FBA of 30 Kg for Business Value; 35 kg for Business Flex; 10 Kg for Economy Saver (flying on either jet or turboprop aircraft); and no FBA for Economy Supersaver.

1) Check-in Baggage:

🧳20kg or 32kg, - 1 luggage will be accepted
🧳40kg, - a maximum of 2 luggage will be accepted

Maximum pre baggage allowance for domestic is up to 40kls only.

2) Hand-carry Baggage:
🧳One pc of hand carry bag is allowed.

PAL Rewards Hidilyn Diaz with Miles for Life

Philippine Airlines grants weightlifting champion Hidilyn Diaz lifetime flight miles as the flag carrier's way of rewarding her for bagging the country’s first Olympic Gold.

"We shall honor this exemplary achievement by giving Miss Diaz 80,000 free miles per year for life. This makes her not only the first Filipina Olympic gold medalist, but also Philippine Airlines’ first Forever Flyer," said PAL President and COO Gilbert Santa Maria.

The Philippines' first-ever Filipino Olympic gold medalist will be able to fly across PAL's domestic, regional and international route network using her flight miles.

"It has long been the flag carrier's mission to support outstanding Filipino athletes to enable them to showcase their skills to the world. Hidilyn's life journey exemplifies hard work, determination and powerful faith, all of which led her to her Olympic victory and the new world record she set," Mr. Santa Maria adds.

PAL has in recent years sponsored or assisted the travel of about 300 young underprivileged Filipino athletes, performers and other artists representing the Philippines in global competitions. This is being done through the PAL Foundation's program which aims to inspire a new generation of Filipinos to aspire for excellence, pursue their dreams and ultimately contribute to their respective communities.

Ms. Diaz is now the pioneer member of a new "Forever Flyer" program that PAL is rolling out in the coming months to enable more travelers to "Fly for Life".

To ensure the smooth implementation on the automation of contact tracing in the entire NAIA Terminals, effective 28 Nov 2020, all airport passengers, and all other airport users are hereby required to download and register an account in the TRAZE CONTACT TRACING mobile app prior to entry in the airport premises. Procedure is as follows:
Download and register in the TRAZE application for the creation of a unique QR code per person.

2. Using the Traze App, scan the QR codes located at the entrance of all terminals and/or MIAA buildings prior to entering the premise/s; and
3. Once inside the premises, once should scan QR codes upon entry in new areas. OR codes will be found in strategic locations of the NAIA Terminals and administrative buildings and offices.
For those who cannot access the Traze App due to gadget limitations, personnel at the Malasakit help desks will be on hand to assist them in printing a QR code for their use. Data of users will be stored in a server where information may be derived in case of contact tracing need.
Security personnel manning the entry gates and/or on roving duty shall ensure compliance with the above directive while they are within the NAIA complex.
