An Iranian singer beautifully performing Pakistan’s national anthem is more than just a performance, it’s a reflection of deep cultural connection.

پاکستان ایک نئی پانچ سالہ آٹو پالیسی متعارف کرانے کی تیاری کر رہا ہے، جو International Monetary Fund (IMF) کے مشورے سے تیار کی گئی ہے، اور اس کا مقصد ملک کے آٹو موٹیو شعبے میں بڑی تبدیلی لانا ہے۔

اس پالیسی کا مرکزی نقطہ درآمدی ٹیرف میں مرحلہ وار کمی ہے۔ متوقع طور پر 2026–27 کے بجٹ میں اوسط ٹیرف 10.6 فیصد سے کم ہو کر 9.5 فیصد رہ جائے گا، جبکہ طویل مدتی ہدف 2030 تک تقریباً 5.99 فیصد تک لانا ہے۔ یہ کمی مارکیٹ کو کھولنے اور مقابلے کو بڑھانے کی واضح علامت ہے۔

پالیسی کے تحت ایک سادہ چار سطحی ٹیرف ڈھانچہ متعارف کرانے کی تجویز ہے، جس میں 0 فیصد، 5 فیصد، 10 فیصد اور 15 فیصد کی شرحیں شامل ہوں گی، جو موجودہ پیچیدہ نظام کی جگہ لے گا۔ اس کے علاوہ استعمال شدہ گاڑیوں کی درآمد پر ڈیوٹیز کو بھی بتدریج کم کیا جائے گا، جو آخرکار صفر تک پہنچ سکتی ہیں۔ اس اقدام سے صارفین کے لیے گاڑیوں کی دستیابی اور استطاعت میں نمایاں بہتری متوقع ہے۔

درآمدات کے ساتھ ساتھ یہ پالیسی مقامی مینوفیکچرنگ کو مضبوط بنانے پر بھی زور دیتی ہے۔ ریگولیٹری ڈیوٹیز میں کمی اور زیادہ کھلی مارکیٹ کے ماحول کو فروغ دے کر حکومت کا مقصد مقامی صنعت کی ترقی اور صارفین کے فائدے کے درمیان توازن قائم کرنا ہے۔

اگر یہ اصلاحات مؤثر طریقے سے نافذ ہو جائیں تو اس کے نتیجے میں گاڑیوں کی قیمتوں میں کمی، ماڈلز کی تعداد میں اضافہ، اور پاکستان میں ایک زیادہ مسابقتی آٹو مارکیٹ دیکھنے کو مل سکتی ہے۔ تاہم، اس منتقلی کے دوران محتاط حکمت عملی ضروری ہوگی تاکہ مقامی صنعت نئی مسابقتی فضا میں مستحکم رہ سکے۔
