Thandiani is a hill station located about 31 kilometers from the city of Abbottabad in the Gilyat area of Pakistan. It is situated 2700 meters above sea level on a small plateau surrounded by pine forests. It is a superb place for nature lovers. The beauty of this lush green hill station is not spoiled by the crowds like many of other hill stations in summer making it a perfect place to go for tho

se who want to relax in a peaceful place far away from the hustle bustle of busy modern life. Thandiani was discovered and established as a sanatorium during British rule, for the comfort of officers positioned at the Abbottabad Cant. There are some European houses and a small bazaar which are occupied only during the summer months. To the east beyond the Kunar River are the mountains of Kashmir and the mountains of Kaghan and Kohistan are visible to the north and northeast. To the northwest are the ranges of Swat and Chitral. Thandiani is not a well established area. There are few shops and only one basic guesthouse. But the beauty of this area lies in its charming landscapes and magnificent weather. There are beautiful trees on the way to Thandiani and also a few small caves which are probably home for wildlife. Local wildlife includes leopards, monkeys, pheasants and the flying squirrel. The dawn in Thandiani is heart touching but very cold as well. It is very cold in Thandiani especially at night even in summers. When first enter Thandiani, at the top there is a road which seems to go all the way to the sky. It gives wonderful view of surrounding areas. The lush green peaceful Thandiani is a place worth visiting.

قلندرآباد سے ٹھنڈیانی (ٹریک)

ٹھنڈیانی اور یہاں تک پہنچنے کیلیئے ایبٹ آباد روڈ کے بارے میں سب جانتے ہیں۔ کبھی کسی نے غور کیا کے ٹھنڈیانی جانے کیلیئے جتنا سفر ایبٹ آباد کی مشرقی پہاڑیوں کی مشرقی سمت سے کرتے ہیں اگر اتنا ہی سفر مغربی سمت سے مطلب پاک چائینہ روڈ (شاہراہ ریشم) پر کیا جائے تو کہاں پہنچیں گے؟

جناب! یقیناً آپ قلندرآباد پہنچیں گے۔ گزشتہ روز ہم نے قلندر آباد کی مشرقی پہاڑی سر کی اور ٹھنڈیانی جا پہنچے۔ یہ سفر لگ بھگ پانچ گھنٹوں میں طے کیا گیا۔ اس ٹریک میں تین سے چار جگہیں کافی دشوار ہیں۔ سنبھل کر چلنا پڑتا ہے کیونکہ صرف پاؤں ٹکانے کی جگہ ہے اگر پاؤں ’’ترڑا‘‘ تو کئی کلومیٹر گہری کھائی میں گر سکتے ہیں۔

بہر طور، ٹریک نہایت شاندار ہے۔ مکمل گھنے جنگل میں سفر کرنے کا منفرد ذائقہ ہے۔ مکمل ٹریک آپکا سنبل کے پھل سے تواضع کرتا ہے۔ دو انتہائی نفیس اور پرکشش چراگاہیں بھی ہیں۔ جو انتہائی پرسکون ہیں۔

اس ٹریک سے آپ کو ایم کے ایم، مکڑا اور عظیم المرتبت نانگا پربت بھی دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔

Thandiani campods, a initiative of KPK Government! Beautiful serene place with Excellent weather!
Its a 1 hour drive from Abottabad, turning left after a couple of kms from abbot-nathia gali road. Just before the top of thandiani there is a bazar and a church. A rough track with church leads to the camping site half a km away. Cooking is self service, a kitchen camp with a stove is provided to the guests and u have to take ur own food and grocery. If you dnt wana cook they can arrange food from nearby local markets if u inform them in advance. Every camp has a western style attach bath. You can book podcamps by paying online through the numbers mentioned. There is no direct waterpipeline and limited supply of water thru a tanker. Following things are to be taken if u wanna travel with family

So better take with u
1. Water 10-15 ltr can to be on safe side.
2. Mineral water cartons if u cant drink chashma water.
3. All cooking utensils, masala oil chicken etc
4. Mospel for kids
5. Umbrella
6. Rain coats
7. Torch, emergency light
